    摘要: A rolling bearing unit with rotating speed sensor comprising a stationary ring having a first raceway, a rotatable ring placed concentric with the stationary ring and having a second raceway, a plurality of rolling elements provided between the first and second raceways, a magnetic tone wheel supported by the rotating ring to rotate together with the rotating ring and having cutouts for an encoder portion, and a sensor supported by the stationary ring to be opposed to the tone wheel and having a detecting portion opposed to the encoder portion with a small gap therebetween, wherein the cutouts are produced through a punching stroke from the side of the magnetic metal plate which is not faced to the small gap to the side of the magnetic metal plate which is faced to the small gap in the assemble state.

    摘要: An inserting portion of a holding case holding a sensor is inserted in a fitting hole formed in the cylindrical wall portion of the cover. The hold-down frame portion of a hold-down member pivoted to the cylindrical wall portion is used to press the base portion of the holding case against the outer peripheral face of the cylindrical wall portion. The contact area between the base portion and the cylindrical wall portion is shut with an O-ring, so that any extraneous matter such as rainwater is prevented from penetrating into the cover. Also, a pair of elastic retaining pieces are provided for a plastic material which embeds a sensor. A pair of retaining projections are provided on the outer peripheral edge of a collar portion formed in the leading end portion of a cylindrical holding portion provided for a cover. While a corrugated sheet spring is elastically compressed in between the stepped portion of the plastic material and the collar portion, the retaining projections are each made to engage with retaining holes formed in the elastic retaining pieces. An O-ring retained by the outer peripheral face of the intermediate portion of the small-diameter portion of the plastic material is used to seal up the contact area between the outer peripheral face of the small-diameter portion and the inner peripheral face of the cylindrical holding portion.

The circumferential-direction widths of teeth respectively constituting a male spline portion (47a) formed in the outer peripheral surface of a spline shaft (17) and a female spline portion (48a) formed in the inner peripheral surface of a spline hole (14) are varied gradually in the respective axial directions of the male and female spline portions (47a), (48a). The directions where the widths of the teeth respectively constituting the male and female spline portions (47a), (48a) increase in the axial direction are set so as to differ from each other, whereby the spline teeth respectively constituting the male and female spline portions (47a), (48a) are engaged with each other in a wedge-like manner. A retaining ring (33b) is bridgingly interposed between the outer peripheral surface of the outer end portion of the spline shaft (17) and the inner peripheral surface of the near-to-outer-end portion of the spline hole (14) to thereby prevent the spline shaft (17) from slipping out of the spline hole (14).

An inner ring for the constant velocity joint has a second spline hole, and balls are provided between the outside engaging groove of the outer ring and the inside engaging groove of the inner ring. A drive shaft has a male spline portion with a groove bottom in spline-engagement with the second spline hole, while the spline shaft has a base end the minimum outer diameter D43 of which is larger than the diameter D27 of the groove bottom of the male spline portion.
