Abstract:
A method and device provides for the testing and validation of a control module for receiving wireless data and communications utilizes a transmission line coupler mounted proximate the control module generates a signal that couples to an antenna of the control module. The control module produces a signal in response to coupling of the antenna with the signal produced by the transmission line coupler. The resulting signal is utilized to check, verify and validate operation of the control module.

Abstract:
A pressure sensor assembly comprises a sensor housing having a flexible wall that is configured to deform in response to a pressure difference between the interior and exterior of the sensor housing; -a first fiber optical cable section that is bonded to the flexible wall of the sensor housing such that the length of the first fiber optical cable section changes in response to deformation of the wall in response to the said pressure difference; a second fiber optical cable section which is bonded to a thermal reference body, which body is connected to the sensor housing by a strain decoupled connection mechanism, such as a tack weld or flexible glue, and is configured to deform substantially solely in response to thermal deformation, such that the length of the second fiber optical cable section solely changes in response to thermal deformation of the thermal reference body.
Abstract:
A modular heat sink decoupling capacitor array includes a plurality of modules, each defining parallel distributed decoupling plates, and each module forming a heat sink fin. Each module includes multiple spaced apart contacts for providing low inductance connections with an associated device. A power distribution interposer module is attached to a heat sink surface of the modular decoupling capacitor. The interposer module is used for implementing power delivery without using valuable ball grid array (BGA) connections and printed circuit board (PCB) layers.
Abstract:
A system and a method for reducing the power consumption of a wireless terminal and increasing capacity of a wireless communication system, without sacrificing the functions of the terminal. A base station includes a memory for storing the characteristics of the wireless terminal, the types of voice traffic that are supported by the terminal, and a program for executing an algorithm for exchanging control messages with the terminal via a wireless network. The algorithm is modified based on the particular characteristics of the wireless terminal, and sets the frequency of message exchange to not to exceed a predetermined frequency. In addition, the algorithm limits a time that information is displayed on the wireless terminal to a predetermined duration of time.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for implementing very high density signal probing of a printed circuit board having a pad pattern connected to signals of interest. A metal plate includes a plurality of through holes arranged in a predefined pattern that corresponds to the pad pattern on the printed circuit board. At least one signal module is inserted within a selected one of the through holes of the metal plate. Each signal module defines a coaxial connector for electrical mating engagement with a coaxial cable connector and has an embedded resistor. At least one power/ground module is inserted within a selected one of the through holes. Each power/ground module contains a high dielectric constant material between an outer conductor and a center conductor defining a capacitor. The capacitor provides a low impedance path between the metal plate and a power or ground pad of the printed circuit board.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing multilayer flexible circuits is disclosed. The cross-sectional area of an unoccupied signal layer volume is initially determined. The unoccupied signal layer includes multiple conductive elements, and the unoccupied signal layer volume is formed between two of the conductive elements. Next, the thickness of an adhesive layer for filling the unoccupied signal layer volume is determined. Finally, the thickness of the adhesive layer is adjusted such that the adhesive layer only fills the unoccupied signal layer volume while the two conductive elements come in direct contact with a dielectric layer without any adhesive in between.

The present invention relates to promoting whole body health in humans and animals by using topical oral compositions comprising a safe and effective amount of a host-response modulating agent in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, said compositions being effective in mediating host reaction to the presence of periodontal pathogens in the oral cavity as well as the toxins and endotoxins released by these pathogens and the inflammatory cytokines and mediators prompted by these oral pathogens.
