Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for forming a polycrystalline layer using laser annealing for preventing damage to the peripheral region of the substrate during laser annealing. The laser annealing comprises a shadow mask structure. When crystallizing an amorphous layer by laser annealing, the shadow mask structure shields the peripheral region of the amorphous layer from laser irradiation. A method for forming a polycrystalline layer using the laser annealing apparatus is also provided in the invention.
Abstract:
An interferometric switched beam radar apparatus and method are disclosed. In one embodiment, a selected antenna of a planar array of beam forming antennas is activated with a substantially continuous frequency modulated transmit signal and a return signal is received from at least two return antennas that have a known offset distance relative to each other. Phase information is extracted from each return signal and used to present information regarding an operating environment to a user. Each beam forming antenna within the array may correspond to a particular viewing angle within the operating environment.

A method for fabricating a system for displaying images is provided, wherein the system comprises a low temperature polysilicon thin film transistor (LTPS-TFT) substrate. The method comprises providing a substrate comprising a first metal layer and a silicon film layer. The silicon film layer is illuminated t by a laser light having a wavelength larger than 400 nm. The silicon film layer is heated to crystallize by absorbing a part of the laser light, and is heated to re-crystallize by absorbing another part of the laser light, which passes through the silicon film layer and is reflected from the first metal layer to the silicon film layer.
Abstract:
An organic electroluminescent device is disclosed. A substrate comprises a control area and a sensitive area. A switch device and a driving device are disposed overlying the control area. A photo sensor is disposed overlying the sensitive area, wherein the photo sensor is a thin film transistor. An OLED element is disposed in the sensitive area and illuminating to the photo sensor. A capacitor coupled to the photo sensor and the driving device. A photo current corresponding to a brightness of the OLED element is generated by the photo sensor responsive to the OLED element illuminating the photo sensor such that a the voltage of the capacitor is adjusted by the photo current to control the current passing through the driving device, thus changing the illumination of the OLED element.
Abstract:
A fractional-N offset phase locked loop (FN-OPLL) is provided. The FN-OPLL includes a fractional divider, a phase detector, a loop filter, a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), and feedback circuitry. Combiner circuitry combines an initial fractional divide value and a modulation signal to provide a combined fractional divide value. Based on the combined fractional divide value, the fractional-N divider divides a reference frequency and provides a divided reference frequency to the phase detector. The phase detector compares a phase of the divided reference frequency to a phase of a feedback signal to provide a comparison signal. The comparison signal is filtered by the loop filter to provide a control signal to the VCO, where the control signal controls a frequency of an output signal of the VCO. The output signal is processed by the feedback circuitry to provide the feedback signal to the phase detector.
Abstract:
A method of improving a polysilicon film crystallinity in a sequential lateral solidification process is provided. A mask having a main pattern portion and a compensating pattern portion is provided. The main pattern portion defines a laser beam pattern scanning and transforming an amorphous silicon film into a polysilicon film. The compensating pattern portion adjacent to the main pattern portion adjusts the energy of the laser beam injected to the polysilicon film to improve the grain shape thereof.
