Abstract: A method for manufacturing a composite part including a fibrous reinforcement and a thermoplastic polymer matrix, which includes the steps of i) depositing the fibrous reinforcement in a two-part mold having a seal compressible by evacuating said mold having no vent, ii) filling the evacuated mold by injecting, in the molten state, a two-component reactive system made of a reactive thermoplastic prepolymer, the injection being carried out using a device having two distinct compartments for each one of the two reactive components mixed in a static mixer, followed by a compression and compaction of the content of the mold, and iii) removing the part from the mold, without any finishing treatment. Further, a device for implementing said method, to the resulting part and to the use of said method in an “in-mold” assembly method.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an impregnation process for a functional fibrous substrate, a liquid composition for implementing this process and the obtained impregnated fibrous substrate. The impregnated functional fibrous substrate is suitable for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles. In particular the present invention deals with an industrial process for impregnating a functional fibrous substrate or long functional fibers with a viscous liquid composition containing mainly monomer components. This viscous composition is called hereafter liquid monomer syrup. The invention concerns also a functional fibrous substrate pre-impregnated with said syrup which is useful for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles. More particular the impregnation of functional fibrous substrate with the monomer syrup is achieved in a mould. The present invention concerns also manufacturing process for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles and three-dimensional mechanical or structured parts obtained by this process.

Abstract: A method for producing a composite material, including an assembly of one or a plurality of synthetic reinforcement fibers, impregnated with at least one thermoplastic polymer having a vitreous transition temperature Tg greater than or equal to 80° C. including: i) a step of impregnating said assembly with a precursor composition in the molten state and including: a) at least one prepolymer P(X)n of said thermoplastic polymer, including a molecular chain P having, at the ends n thereof, identical reactive functions X, said prepolymer having a semiaromatic and/or semi-cycloaliphatic structure, b) at least one chain extender including two identical functions Y, which are reactive with at least one of said functions X; ii) a step of polymerization by mass (poly)addition, in the molten state, of said prepolymer with said chain extender, with said thermoplastic polymer of the thermoplastic matrix being the result of said polymerization by mass polyaddition.
