Abstract:
The invention provides a power divider, comprising: a plurality of transmission stages and a plurality of ground layers alternately arranged on respective ones of a plurality of dielectric layers, a first transmission stage being arranged on a first dielectric layer, and a last transmission stage being arranged below a last dielectric layer; wherein the plurality of transmission stages are arrayed vertically, each consisting of a loop formed by a transmission line; the first transmission stage has a first opening connected by a resistor, and each of the remaining transmission stages has the first opening connected by the resistor and a second opening without a resistor; two ends of the first opening of one of the adjacent transmission stages are connected to two ends of the second opening of the other one of the adjacent transmission stages by via transitions, in a top-to-bottom direction; and each ground layer has clearances through which the via transitions pass. The invention also provides a method of fabricating the power divider.
Abstract:
A method and device for accurately positioning patients for imaging and radiotherapy is disclosed. The device includes a support platform (such as a bed, a table, a couch, a chair, etc.) connected to a fixed base by at least two and preferably four offset supporting arms. The support arms are journaled into the support platform at passive-rotatable pivot joints and are journaled into the base at active-rotatable pivot points. The base contains actuators (manual or powered by motors, pneumatics or hydraulics) for articulating the support arms. The relative lengths of the support arms may be varied to create a pre-defined trajectory of the support platform, between a starting spatial position and orientation to an ending spatial position and orientation, and through a continuous range there between. This makes it possible to position a patient within a range from a low, standing up position to a high, forwarding, prone or supine position, or vice versa.

Abstract:
A method is disclosed for creating hydrogels with ordered crystalline structures that exhibit a characteristic colored opalescence. In addition to the unique optical properties, these materials contain a large amount of water in their crosslinked networks. The manufacturing processes include synthesizing monodispersed hydrogel nanoparticles containing specific reactive functional groups, self-assembly of these particles to form a crystalline structure, and subsequent crosslinking neighboring spheres to stabilize the entire network. Polymerizing a hydrogel monomeric composition around the crystalline structure can enhance the mechanical strength. The resulting network is dimensionally and thermodynamically stabile under various pH and temperature conditions. The color and volume of these crystalline hydrogel networks can reversibly change in response to external stimuli such as temperature, pH and other environmental conditions. These new materials may lead to a variety of technological and artistic applications, ranging from sensors, displays, controlled drug delivery devices, jewelry and decorative consumer products.
Abstract:
The method of wet etching an aluminum oxide substrate deposits a thin layer of titanium film or chromium film on the aluminum oxide surface prior to the application of the photo-resist coating to form a barrier between the aluminum oxide and the photo-resist. This barrier layer inhibits the reaction between the aluminum oxide and the photo-resist during the photolithographic process. The undercutting of the aluminum oxide in the wet etching process is therefore controlled by the deposition of the barrier layer comprising the thin layer of titanium film or chromium film. The titanium film used is nominally 30 .ANG. thick to obtain the beneficial effects noted above while the chromium film would be approximately 1000 .ANG. thick.
Abstract:
The invention provides a bandpass filter, comprising: a substrate with a plurality of dielectric layers; a plurality of resonators; and a plurality of ground layers each having one slot arranged on; wherein the plurality of resonators are arrayed vertically each on respective one of the plurality of dielectric layers alternately without any of offsets, and each of the plurality of ground layers is between adjacent dielectric layers. Adjacent slots are arranged in opposite sides of the ground layers. The invention also provides a method of fabricating the bandpass filter.
Abstract:
As part of a video encoding or decoding operation on video data, a video coder performs a coding operation for a current video unit of the video data. As part of performing the coding operation for the current video unit, the video coder determines the availabilities of one or more video units that neighbor the current video unit. In order to determine the availability of a video unit that neighbors the current video unit, the video coder identifies, based on availabilities of video units that neighbor a parent video unit of the current video unit, an entry in a lookup table. The identified entry indicates the availability of the video unit that neighbors the current video unit. The video coder then performs a coding operation on the current video unit based on whether the video unit that neighbors the current video unit is available.
Abstract:
A clutchless transmission apparatus and control method thereof. The transmission apparatus comprises a motor (10) and a transmission (20), said motor (10) is connected to said transmission (20) and supplies power to said transmission (20) via an input shaft of the transmission (20), wherein said apparatus further comprises a control device (30), which is electrically connected to said motor (10) and said transmission (20), wherein said control device (30) is configured to determine whether a gear-position shifting is required based on rotation speed of said transmission (20), if a gear-position shifting is required, regulates torque of said motor (10) to control said transmission (20) to disengage, and then regulates the rotation speed of said motor (10) based on the rotation speed of said transmission (20) to control said transmission (20) to engage for shifting gear-position. The clutchless transmission apparatus provided in the present invention doesn't need a clutch during gear-position shifting, and therefore it is light, simple, easy to maintain and control, and can be used in a wide range of application.
Abstract:
Described herein are the systems and methods of treating diseases related to fungal infection with light therapy. In one embodiment, an apparatus that utilizes one or multiple light emitting diodes (LED) to treat the fungus is applied externally to the infection area. Light therapy may applied periodically at scheduled times with continuous or pulsed radiation.
