Abstract:
The present invention provides low polyphenols (such as bisphenol A) tougheners for epoxy adhesives. The tougheners, and adhesives comprising the tougheners exhibit enhanced viscosity stability, e.g., compared to tougheners prepared from higher amounts of bisphenol A (and epoxy adhesives comprising them).
Abstract:
Two component polyurethane adhesives contain (a) at least one alkyl-substituted 4,4′-di(aminocyclohexyl)alkane wherein each cyclohexyl group is alkyl-substituted in at least one position ortho to the amino group, (b) at least one 2,4′-di(aminocyclohexyl)alkane or 2,2′-di(aminocyclohexyl)alkane, (c) a mixture of (ii) at least one alkyl-substituted 4,4′-di(aminocyclohexyl)alkane wherein each cyclohexyl group is alkyl-substituted and (ii) at least one 2,4′-di(aminocyclohexyl)alkane and/or 2,2′-di(aminocyclohexyl)alkane, or (d) a mixture of 40 to 99.9% by weight (a), (b) or (c) with 0.1 to 60% by weight of at least one unsubstituted 4,4′-di(aminocyclohexyl)alkane, The adhesives also contain one or more polyols, in which at least 50% of the hydroxyl groups are secondary hydroxyls. These adhesive provide a useful combination of long open time and excellent sag resistance.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to articles comprising a plurality of molded hollow parts (11) having different central axis (14, 15) through the hollow elements, further having passages in walls of the hollow parts transverse to the central axis of the hollow parts. The present invention also relates to methods applying two part curable materials to substrates using the molded parts of the invention as mixing elements.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a two-component adhesive based on hybrid urethane-acrylate epoxies comprising a core/shell rubber demonstrating good T-peel strength. The adhesives are suitable for use in industry, e.g., as adhesives for transportation industry applications.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention provide a one component epoxy adhesive composition having improved impact resistance at low temperatures, such as −40° C. or less. In a first aspect, the adhesive includes one or more epoxy resins; at least one polyurethane based toughener; at least one amphipathic block copolymer; and one or more epoxy curing agents. In a further, aspect epoxy adhesive compositions having improved wash off resistance are also provided.
Abstract:
An adhesive formulation including: (a) at least one polyol having an average functionality number of greater than 3 and a hydroxyl equivalent weight of from about 300 g/mol OH to about 3,000 g/mol OH; and (b) at least one tin catalyst compound; wherein the adhesive formulation exhibits a latency of greater than 10 minutes open time; and a process for preparing the adhesive formulation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to isocyanate-free elastomer adhesives based on hybrid urethane-acrylate epoxies. The hybrid shows properties consistent for structural adhesives with excellent mechanical and thermal stability, and low read-through. The adhesives are suitable for use in industry, e.g., as adhesives for automotive applications.
