摘要： A polarizing plate is provided with an optical compensation film and includes a polarizing plate, an adhesive layer A, an optical compensation film, and an adhesive layer B adhered to one another, wherein the polarizing plate comprises a polyvinyl alcohol polarizing film containing a dichroic substance, and wherein the elastic modulus of the adhesive layer A of the polarizing plate with an optical compensation film is not greater than 0.06 MPa. Furthermore, a liquid crystal display is provided in which the polarizing plate with an optical compensation film is furnished on at least one side of the liquid crystal cell. Thus, display irregularities can be improved.

摘要： The present invention provides a polarizing film or a polarizer that has an elastic modulus of at most about 3500 N/mm2 and suppresses occurrence of warping, the polarizing film is obtained by adsorbing a dichroic material in a polyvinyl alcohol-based film 20 μm in thickness and stretching the tilin. The polarizing film has a transmittance of at least 43% and a polarization degree of at least 98%. A transparent protective layer is laminated on at least one surface of the polarizing film to form a polarizing plate.

摘要： A polarizing plate used for manufacturing a liquid crystal display with suppressed irregularity in brightness, a method of manufacturing the same, and a liquid crystal display using the same, are provided. The polarizing plate is formed having a laminate of a polarizing film and a transparent protective layer provided on at least one surface of the polarizing film. By heat-treating and subsequently reheat-treating, the laminate has a shrinkage force of at most 8N/10 mm width when the laminate is further left at 60° C. for 1 hour, and furthermore, the laminate has a single hue value b of at most 4.6 NBS.

The measurement wavelength is preferably a wavelength that the dichroic material provides no absorption, and it is 1000 nm, for example.

摘要： A polarizing plate of the present invention includes a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizer and transparent protective films provided on both sides of the polarizer with an adhesive layer interposed between the polarizer and each transparent protective film, wherein the transparent protective films each comprise a lactone ring structure-containing (meth)acrylic resin, each one of the transparent protective films has a thickness T1 (μm) of 10 to 35 μm, and the polarizer has a thickness T2 (μm) which satisfies that the ratio (T2/T1) of T2 to the thickness T1 of each one of the transparent protective films falls within the range of 0.8 to 1.8. The polarizing plate is designed to be thin and can satisfy durability.
