Abstract: Thermally conductive polymer (TCP) resin composition (i) or (ii) are described, comprising components (I) and (II): (i) 40 to 72% by volume of at least one matrix polymer (I); 28 to 60% by volume of a thermally conductive filler material (II) (D50 0.1 to 200 μm) consisting of aluminosilicate (II-1) in combination with a further component (II-2) selected from: multi wall carbon nanotubes, graphite and and boron nitride, wherein the volume ratio (ll-1)/(ll-2) is 30:1 to 0.1:1; or (ii) 40 to 65% by volume of at least one matrix polymer (I); 35 to 60% by volume of aluminosilicate (II) (D50 0.1 to 200 μm); wherein the matrix polymer (I) comprises styrenic polymers (I′) selected from: ABS resins, ASA resins, and elastomeric block copolymers. Shaped articles made thereof can be used as “Cool Touch” surfaces for automobile interior, motor housings, lamp housings and electrical and electronic housings and as heat sinks for high performance electronics or LED sockets.

Abstract: A process produces a polymer composition (A) containing a styrene copolymer (a) and an impact modifier (b), comprising a copolymer (b1) as graft base and a graft (b2), where the steps of the process are: (1) providing a crosslinked copolymer (b1) made of: (b11) from 70 to 99.99% by weight of a conjugated diene or acrylate, (b12) from 0 to 29% by weight of another comonomer, (b13) from 0 to 10% by weight of crosslinking monomers, and (b14) from 0.01 to 0.7% by weight of a chain-transfer reagent; (2) applying, to the copolymer (b1), at least one graft (b2) comprising: (b21) from 65 to 95% by weight of a vinylaromatic monomer, (b22) from 5 to 35% by weight of acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile, and (b23) from 0 to 30% by weight of monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, thus providing the impact modifier (b); (3) mixing the styrene copolymer (a) and the impact modifier (b), and thus leads to improved mechanical properties of the polymer composition (A).

Abstract: A thermoplastic molding composition comprising (A) 15 to 45 wt.-% graft copolymer (A) obtained by emulsion polymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in presence of an agglomerated butadiene rubber latex (A1) with D50 of 150 to 800 nm; (B) 40 to 75 wt.-% copolymer (B) of styrene and acrylonitrile having a weight ratio of 80:20 to 65:35 and Mw of 150,000 to 300,000 g/mol, (C) 2.0 to 5.0 wt.-% elastomeric block copolymer (C) made from 15 to 65 wt.-% diene, and 35 to 85% by weight vinylaromatic monomer; (D) 2.0 to 5.0 wt.-% titanium dioxide pigment D comprising at least 95 wt.-% titanium dioxide and 1.7 to 3.3 wt.-% alumina; and (E) 0 to 7.0 wt.-% of at least one additive/processing aid (E) different from (D); having a high chemical resistance, high color and thermal stability and low tendency to delamination. This can be used for sheet extrusion and thermoforming, in particular as inner liner for a cooling apparatus.
