摘要： An automobile interior member which is represented by an instrument panel and to which an air bag device is to be assembled, is constituted by a main body portion and an air bag cover portion, the main body portion and the air bag cover portion being formed in a manner so that the main body portion is primarily molded (injection-molded) out of first thermoplastic resin material, and the air bag cover portion is secondarily molded (injection-molded) so as to be lapped with the main body portion on the back surface side. The second thermoplastic resin is oriented in a direction along a tear line (edges of rotational lid portions) of the lid portions (door portions) in the air bag cover portion so that the air bag cover portion is secondarily molded.

摘要： An air bag door construction in which the air bag develops smoothly and securely, the skin can be easily produced. The skin is formed by a mold including an endless and annular wall provided on a molding surface to be inclined relative to the molding surface. A groove portion of the skin formed by the wall is cut at a bottom portion to separate the skin into a general portion and a door portion which are made flush with each other. When the surfaces of the general portion and the door portion are flush the gap between the general portion and the door portion can be narrowed, and gap on the surface is narrowed. When the skin is disposed in the mold for foam forming, the skin can position the general portion and the door portion in the desired position easily, and will not scatter a skin chip in the development of the air bag.

摘要： An instrument panel is formed so that a facing layer constituted by three layers consisting of a skin layer, a foam layer and a barrier layer is disposed on the front surface side of a base and a rupture presumptive portion is disposed in a region for covering a folded air bag so that the rupture presumptive portion is opened so as to enable the air bag to protrude when the air bag is unfolded and inflated. The rupture presumptive portion is formed so that cutdown portions are formed so as to extend from the back surface side of the base to the barrier layer along the rupture presumptive portion. A large number of holes are provided at least in the skin layer so as to cover only the rupture presumptive portion and its vicinity.

摘要： A console lid comprises a base having a predetermined rigidity and a skin layer member having an inner layer and an outer layer, which covers the base. A cushioning layer made of foamed polyurethane having a thickness that decreases toward the ends thereof is provided between the top of the base and the skin layer member. The skin layer member which has been trimmed is positioned in a mold and the cushioning layer is positioned so that it is in contact with the skin layer member. A plasticized resin is charged into a mold cavity from a gate to form a base. Excellent soft touch and feel is provided by the resulting composite structure since the cushioning layer, made of a soft material, is provided between the base and the skin layer member in a position where such a soft touch or cushioning is most desirable.

The assist grip includes an outer cylinder member, a first divisional body, a second divisional body, and an elastic reinforcement member. The elastic reinforcement member is interposed between an inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder member and the first fitting end portion, and presses the first fitting end portion toward the second fitting end portion.

摘要： In a molded product, at least an opening end, forming a window frame of a window formed as a part of a molded subassembly, is fastened integrally to a skin of the molded subassembly. Alternatively, a decorative component part is disposed on an outer periphery of the window so that a parting line between the decorative component part and the skin is visible as being joined closely in a decorative surface of the completed molded product. Processes for manufacturing the same are disclosed as well.

摘要： Light shielding portions made from light shielding resin material, and light conducting portions made from transparent or translucent resin material are formed integrally with each other by two-layer molding to thereby reduce the number of manufacturing steps and to thereby make the assembling easy. The light conducting portions for conducting light from light sources furnished in a control panel to light-emission portions of the control panel are constituted by operating dial light-emission portions, label light-emission portions, a CD insertion hole light-emission portion, and so on. Further, temporarily locking claws for locking the light shielding portions in the control panel temporarily may be formed by integral molding with the light shielding portions to thereby make the assembling easier. Further, light shielding walls for shielding the surroundings of the light conducting portions may be provided in the light shielding portions so that light from the light sources enter only aimed light conducting portions.

摘要： A resin part such as an instrument panel, a console box or door trim has a substrate body made of hard resin and a skin mounted on a surface of the substrate. To produce the resin part, a preformed elastic sheet is set within a mold cavity. Then, a molten resin is injected into the cavity through gates. The molten resin is first injected into the cavity through gates that are opposed to the skin and after the passage of a predetermined time, the resin is injected through gates that are not opposed to the skin, thereby forming a substrate that has the skin thermally fused to a surface thereof.

摘要： Garnish members according to this invention are installed and fixed to peripheries of a door opening in the interior of a vehicle body. The garnish members have an air bag therein and include elongate garnish bodies disposed in the interior of a vehicle body fixing portions. The fixing portions are hinged to the garnish bodies at a rear side of the garnish bodies and can be fixed to the body. The fixing portions include brackets capable of maintaining folding conditions of the air bag, which brackets can be ruptured when the air bag is inflated.
