摘要: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine (10) includes intake valve control means (50). The internal combustion engine (10) includes a variable intake valve operating mechanism (66) that changes a valve opening characteristic of an intake valve (64), and rich combustion is performed in the internal combustion engine (10) to control an exhaust gas purification catalyst (24) disposed in an exhaust passage (18). The intake valve control means (50) controls the valve opening characteristic of the intake valve (64) to increase a flow rate of intake air in an early stage of an intake stroke when the rich combustion is performed, as compared to when non-rich combustion is performed.

The control apparatus further includes intake-valve closing timing advancing means (50) for advancing the intake-valve closing timing when the amount of EGR gas is increased. The intake-valve closing timing advancing means (50) advances the intake-valve closing timing by performing a first operation that advances the phases using the phase change means (60), and performing a second operation that decreases the duration using the duration change means (60), and makes a timing at which the second operation is started later than a timing at which the first operation is started.

摘要: The present invention relates to a control apparatus for an internal combustion engine. An object of the present invention is to suppress deterioration of emission and fuel consumption arising during acceleration due to an effect of an exhaust valve opening timing.An upper limit of a fuel injection quantity is set based on the exhaust valve opening timing. The fuel injection quantity is limited to the upper limit or less when the fuel injection quantity is increased during acceleration. The exhaust valve opening timing at which the upper limit is maximized is set to a relatively advanced timing in a low engine speed range, moving in the retard direction as the engine speed rises from the low engine speed range toward a mid engine speed range, and moving in the advance direction as the engine speed rises further from the mid engine speed range toward a high engine speed range.

摘要: A NOx catalyst in the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine is capable of lean burn and adapted to release and reduce absorbed NOx by a reducing agent. Reducing agent supplier is provided in the exhaust passage on the upstream side of the NOx catalyst. A load detector detects the load of an internal combustion engine. Reducing agent addition controller controls the reducing agent addition period and the reducing agent addition interval based on the load of the internal combustion engine, whereby sufficient reducing agent is supplied to the NOx catalyst side independently of the operating condition.

摘要: In a device for controlling an engine, comprising combustion noise suppressor for suppressing combustion noise of a combustion chamber and controller for controlling the combustion noise suppressor, the device further includes control amount setter for setting a control amount of the combustion noise suppressor so that target combustion noise characteristics corresponding to a required amount of acceleration or deceleration exhibit a slower change in combustion noise than combustion noise characteristics corresponding to output characteristics of the engine over before and after acceleration or deceleration, wherein the controller controls the combustion noise suppressor according to the control amount set by the control amount setter. On the event of a rapid acceleration, a rapid change in the combustion noise in the initial stage of the acceleration is prevented to improve driving comfort.

摘要: Removal of fine particles by oxidation or/and sulfur poisoning recovery control may be required when an internal combustion engine has been in an extremely low load state for a predetermined period or more. In this case, the engine speed of the internal combustion engine (1) is adjusted to a range where the temperature of a filter (20) can be raised by heat-up control. The heat-up control is then executed by a filter temperature control means to raise the temperature of the filter (20) to a predetermined value. When the filter (20) reaches the predetermined temperature by means of low-temperature combustion, post-injection, VIGOM-injection, addition of 10 fuel to an exhaust system and the like, removal of fine particles by oxidation or/and sulfur poisoning recovery control for eliminating sulfur poisoning of a NOx absorbent are conducted. Removal of PMs captured by the filter and sulfur poisoning recovery control of the NOx absorbent can thus be conducted even if the internal combustion engine is left in an extremely low load operational state.
