    摘要: In an image signal encoding method for encoding an image signal using motion compensation, a motion vector is found by means of a block matching method, a first distortion SEmc of motion compensated prediction associated with the motion vector, and a second distortion SEnomc of prediction without motion compensation are detected, the motion vector is used for for inter-picture prediction encoding when SEnomc>SEmc+K, with K being a constant greater than 0, and a vector having a value zero is used, in place of the motion vector, for inter-picture prediction encoding when SEnomc.ltoreq.SEmc+K. In another aspect, a speed of motion in a sequence of pictures is detected, and for a part of the sequence of pictures detected to contain a quick motion, the prediction encoding is performed using one-way prediction encoding, and for a part of the sequence of pictures without a quick motion, prediction encoding is performed using bi-directional prediction encoding. In another aspect, the image signal is subsampled for each field, and a motion vector is determined using the field-subsampled image signal.

    摘要: An encoding preprocessing part 1 extracts the amount of image feature relative to image data and passes the amount of image feature to a control part 2 as image feature amount information 11 and also sends image data 10 to an encoding part 3. The control part 2 determines whether there is a dissolve image or not based on the image feature amount information 11 and if it is determined that the image data 10 is the dissolve image, an encoding parameter 12 is set so that a configuration of GOP which is normally M=3 is changed into the configuration of GOP of M=2, and the encoding part 3 performs encoding based on the encoding parameter 12. As a result of that, a prediction error of a B-picture frame in a dissolve interval becomes substantially zero and on encoding in the dissolve interval, the amount of information occurrence in frames except I-picture and P-picture frames can be reduced and thus the amount of information occurrence as a whole can be reduced.

As a result, an amount of arithmetic operation in the motion detection of the image encoding unit can be reduced.

    摘要: The video signal encoding device comprises an encoding frame pulse generating means for generating an encoding frame pulse on the basis of a video input frame pulse signal and a video input clock signal input thereto, as well as a video signal rearranging means for rearranging the frame order of video input signals, together with a video signal write control means and a read control means; wherein the encoding frame pulse generating means generates the encoding frame pulse first by setting a reference phase in accordance with the video input frame pulse, and thereafter dividing the frequency of the video input clock signal to a predetermined number of clock pulses. The video signal read control means controls the read operation of the video signals stored in the video signal rearranging means on the basis of the encoding pulse signal generated by said frame pulse generating means and the video input clock signal.

    摘要: A filtering circuit separates from the composite color television signal both the luminance and chrominance signals that includes a delay circuit for delaying the composite color video signal. A first filter is also provided which is responsive to the video signal and the delayed video signal and extracts a chrominance signal corresponding to a frequency component of a color subcarrier in a vertical direction. A second filter is used which is responsive to at least the delayed video signal and extracts a chrominance signal corresponding to a frequency component of the color subcarrier in a horizontal direction. Lastly, a third filter is utilized which is responsive to the video signal and the delayed video signal and extracts a chrominance signal corresponding to a frequency component of the color subcarrier in both the vertical and horizontal direction. This filter circuit then determines, in response to the video signal and the delayed video signal, a correlation in a televised picture in the vertical and horizontal directions, respectively. In accordance with this determination, a switching circuit selects one of the chrominance signals extracted, respectively, by the first to third filters as an output.

    摘要: In a judgement circuit for an adaptive filter for use in a color television system, sample values of a composite video signal are obtained by sampling the composite video signal at a predetermined sampling frequency in synchronism with a horizontal scanning frequency in such a manner that the corresponding sample points are arranged in a grating on the screen. A horizontal filter receives the sample values corresponding to a first sample point and a second and a third sample points positioned at the left of and at the right of the first sample point. A vertical filter receives the sample values corresponding to the first sample point and a fourth and a fifth sample points positioned over and under the first sample point. The variation of the signal in the vertical direction and the variation of the signal in the vertical direction are detected, and are compared. One of the output of the horizontal filter and the output of the vertical filter is selected in accordance with the result of the comparison.
