Abstract: A vehicular trailer assist system includes a plurality of vehicle cameras disposed at a vehicle, a trailer camera disposed at a rear portion of a trailer and viewing at least rearward of the trailer, and an electronic control unit (ECU) having a processor operable to process image data captured by the cameras. A display screen displays images of a region rearward of the trailer and includes a touch screen. Responsive to a touch input that is representative of a target location, the ECU, via processing of image data captured by the cameras, determines a path of travel for the vehicle and trailer to follow to maneuver the vehicle and trailer toward the target location. The ECU, responsive to an input indicative of an updated target location, updates the path of travel for the vehicle and trailer to follow to maneuver the vehicle and trailer toward the updated target location.

Abstract: A method for determining a safe state for a vehicle includes disposing a camera at a vehicle and disposing an electronic control unit (ECU) at the vehicle. Image data is captured via the camera and provided to the ECU. An image processor of the ECU processes captured image data. A condition is determined via processing at the image processor of the ECU captured image data. The condition comprises a shadow present in the field of view of the camera within ten frames of captured image data or a damaged condition of the imager within two minutes of operation of the camera. The condition is indicative of a condition where processing of captured image data degrades in performance. The ECU determines a safe state for the vehicle responsive to determining the condition.

Responsive to a user input selecting a target area present in the displayed image, the control, via processing of data captured by the sensors, is operable to determine a path of travel for the vehicle and trailer to follow to maneuver the vehicle and trailer toward a target location represented by the selected displayed target area. The control, responsive to determination of the path of travel, controls at least steering of the vehicle to maneuver the vehicle and trailer along the determined path of travel.

Abstract: A vehicular parking assist system includes a plurality of sensors disposed at a vehicle and sensing exterior of the vehicle. The vehicular parking assist system, via processing of captured sensor data, and while the vehicle is conducting a parking maneuver, detects an object and tracks location of the detected object relative to the vehicle until the detected object leaves a field of sensing of the at least one sensor of the plurality of sensors. The system, after the detected object leaves the field of sensing of the at least one sensor, predicts location of the detected object relative to the vehicle. The system, upon completion of the parking maneuver, determines that the detected object is hazardous based on the predicted location of the detected object relative to the vehicle, and responsive to determining that the detected object is hazardous, restricts opening of a door of the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicular alert system includes at least one sensor disposed at a vehicle and sensing exterior of the vehicle. The at least one sensor captures sensor data. Electronic circuitry of an electronic control unit includes a processor for processing sensor data captured by the at least one sensor to detect presence of objects viewed by the at least one sensor. The vehicular alert system, responsive to determining a likelihood that the vehicle is parking, tracks a position of a detected object until the object leaves a field of sensing of the sensor. The vehicular alert system predicts a position of the object relative to the vehicle and determines the object is a hazard based on the predicted position. The vehicular alert system, responsive to determining that the detected object is a hazard, alerts an occupant of the vehicle of the detected object.

Abstract: A vehicular trailer guidance system includes an electronic control unit (ECU) and a rear backup camera disposed at a vehicle. A human machine interface (HMI) is operable in (i) a trailer left-backup mode, (i) a trailer straight-backup mode and (iii) a trailer right-backup mode. Responsive to selection by the driver of the trailer left-backup mode or trailer right-backup mode, the ECU sets a desired trailer angle of the trailer tongue leftward or rightward to an angle that is commensurate with a driver-selected setting of an input device. Responsive to selection by the driver of the trailer straight-backup mode, the ECU sets the desired trailer angle to a zero degree angle. The ECU, while the vehicle is backing up the trailer, controls the power steering system of the vehicle to steer the vehicle to back up the trailer to have the determined trailer angle coincide with the set desired trailer angle.

Abstract: A vehicular trailering assist system includes a vehicle rear backup camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and viewing at least rearward of the vehicle. A trailer hitched to the vehicle includes a trailer rear camera disposed at a rear portion of the trailer and viewing at least rearward of the trailer. The control displays at a display device in the vehicle a surround view image using an avatar of the vehicle and an avatar of the trailer. The control stitches images derived from image data captured by the vehicle rear backup camera and images derived from the trailer rear camera to provide a transparent trailer view, and the display device displays transparent trailer view video images. Responsive to the vehicle being shifted into a reverse gear, the display device automatically displays rear backup images derived from image data captured by the trailer rear camera.

Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle towing a trailer includes a vehicle transceiver disposed at the vehicle and at least one trailer camera disposed at the trailer being towed by the vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the trailer. A trailer transceiver is disposed at a front exterior portion of the trailer and is operable to receive image data captured by the at least one trailer camera and to wirelessly transmit captured image data to the vehicle transceiver disposed at the vehicle when the vehicle is towing the trailer. A video display screen is disposed at the vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle when the vehicle is towing the trailer. The video display screen is operable to display video images derived from captured image data received by the vehicle transceiver disposed at the vehicle.
