    摘要: The invention provides a composition comprising a first composition, which first composition comprises the following: A) a first interpolymer comprising, in polymerized form, ethylene, an α-olefin and a nonconjugated polyene; B) a second interpolymer comprising, in polymerized form, ethylene, an α-olefin and a nonconjugated polyene; and wherein the first composition has at least one of the following features: a) an [(ML(1+4, 125° C.))/Mw(conv)]*1000 greater than 0.429 mole/g; b) a Mooney Viscosity (ML, 1+4, 125° C.) greater than, or equal to, 70, and has a low shear viscosity (η at 0.1 rad/sec) less than, or equal to, 100,000 Pa·sec; and c) a Mooney Viscosity (ML(1+4, 125° C.)) greater than, or equal to, 70, and has an [Mw(abs)]/[Mw(conv)] less than 1.2.

    摘要: A reactive extrusion process for producing an ionomer is disclosed. The process comprising adding a polymer containing a carboxyl functionality to an extruder, then homogenously melting the polymer in a melting zone of the extruder. A first melt seal zone of the extruder is formed to separate the melting zone from an injection zone where an aqueous solution of metallic ions are added to the molten polymer. The first melt seal zone is formed by increasing the pressure in the melt seal zone to a pressure which is higher than the vapor pressure of the water at any point in the injection zone and the reaction zone. The aqueous solution of metallic ions is then mixed with the polymer containing the carboxyl functionality in a reaction zone of the extruder under conditions such that the metallic ions are substantially reacted with the carboxyl functionality. A pressure build-up zone is formed in the extruder, wherein the pressure build-up zone is located no earlier than at the end of the reaction zone wherein the pressure build-up zone is formed by increasing the pressure to a level such that the aqueous solution of metallic ions remains in the liquid phase for a time sufficient to allow for the desired reaction between the metallic ions and the carboxyl functionality of the polymer.

    摘要: An aqueous dispersion is claimed which is capable of forming a free-standing, coherent, elastomeric, solid film which, after drying and annealing at 80.degree. C. for 30 minutes, demonstrates a tensile strength of about 11.0 MPa or greater wherein the dispersion comprises: I. an organic phase comprising: (a) one or more block copolymer(s) corresponding to the formula A-B-X.sub.m -(B-A).sub.n, wherein each A polymer block consists essentially of a monovinylidene aromatic monomer, having a weight average molecular weight from about 8,000 to about 15,000 Daltons, each B polymer block consists essentially of a conjugated diene and, optionally, a monovinylidene aromatic monomer having a weight average molecular weight from about 30,000 to about 200,000 Daltons, X is the remnant of a multifunctional coupling agent, m is 0 or 1, and n is an integer from 1 to 5, and (b) optionally, an extender for the block copolymer which is compatible with the B block; II. a surfactant; and III. water, wherein the A block effective phase volume in the organic phase is from about 5 to about 20 percent.
