Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the production of olefinically unsaturated polyester resins containing at least 0.025 moles of urethane groups per 100 g of resin by reactingA) olefinically unsaturated polyester resins which contain alcoholic hydroxyl groups, have a molecular weight (M.sub.n) of 800 to 10,000, an acid vlaue of 0 to 50 and a hydroxyl number of 30 to 120, and are based on the reaction product ofI) a dicarboxylic acid component containing a) 90 to 100 mole percent of maleic acid, maleic anhydride and/or fumaric acid and b) 0 to 10 mole percent of another carboxylic acid andII) 1.1 to 1.5 moles, based on one mole of the dicarboxylic acid component, of a polyol component containing c) 0.1 to 0.5 moles of at least one saturated cycloaliphatic diol having 6 to 18 carbon atoms, d) 0.5 to 0.9 moles of at least one saturated aliphatic diol having 2 to 6 carbon atoms and e) 0.1 to 0.5 moles of at least one .beta.,.gamma.-ethylenically unsaturated ether alcohol having 5 to 14 carbon atoms, withB) an organic polyisocyanate baased on a member selected from the group of biuret-, isocyanurate-, uretdione- and urethane-modified polyisocyanates having 8 to 30% by weight of (cyclo)-aliphatically bound isocyanate groups in an amount sufficient to provide a ratio of isocyanate groups of component B) to hydroxyl groups of component A) of 0.1:1 to 1:1.The present invention also relates to the olefinically unsaturated polyester resins containing urethane groups obtained by this process and to coatings prepared from coating compositions based on these olefinically unsaturated polyester resins and cured by free radical polymerization.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and to apparatus for crushing material for grinding, in which the material for grinding first of all passes in multiple circulation through a grinding stage which operates on the pressure crushing principle and then without further grinding is delivered to a classification stage consisting of two classification assemblies set to different degrees of fineness, the streams of fines from the two classification assemblies being mixed together. By the combination of these two measures a desired flattening of the particle size distribution of the end product is achieved.
Abstract:
An anti-collision cushion is disclosed for the occupants of a motor vehicle. Known anti-collision cushions are constructed with a central part which is connected to two side parts of equal size. A tearing fold which reduces the volume capacity, and which is formed by a rip seam, is provided on the surface of the central part. In the deployment phase an expansion occurs with high velocities in the region of the side parts, which may result in injuries to the occupant in some circumstances. In the novel anti-collision cushion the rip seams connect the connecting seams which are contiguous in the region of the tearing fold between the central part and the side parts. A reduction of the expansion and of the expansion velocity, particularly in the region of the side parts, is thereby achieved.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wire connector for cable wires, in particular for telecommunications.A device is provided in a wire connector, which can be used for generating a connecting splice as well as for generating a branching splice, without special tools for cutting the cable wires off being necessary. Guide channels (4) are provided having a separating knife (6) for the cable wires (7,8). Furthermore, the upper part of housing (2) includes separating pieces on its underside. The upper part of housing (2) is latchable with the lower part of housing (1) in two different positions, the separating pieces cooperating in one position only with the separating knives (6).
Abstract:
The invention relates to apparatus for crushing brittle material for comminution which is subjected to individual grain crushing and material bed crushing in a roll crusher at high pressure and with agglomerates being formed, these agglomerates being loosened in the sifter with the aid of a separate arrangement and removed from the crushing system. In this way a crushing stage which is provided for further crushing has its load significantly reduced and as a result the apparatus is rendered considerably more economical.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for detecting breaks in a travelling threadline of a synthetic filament is described. The motion of the threadline is monitored for speed by means of generating an electrical current by passage of the threadline across an idler roll. Increases or decreases in the speed of the threadline change the frequency of the electrical current generated, thereby providing means for signaling threadline speed changes such as occur in breaks and wrapping of the threadline.
Abstract:
A needle is proposed including a cannula or hollow shaft with a multilumen insert inside. The insert comprises at least two lumen. Both the insert as well as the cannula have bevelled ends. In the insert substantially straight cleaved fibers are present that may be connected at the proximal end to a console. At least one of the distal fiber ends in the insert may protrude more than half the fiber diameter out of the insert. Furthermore, the bevel angle of the insert is different from the bevel angle of the cannula such that combination cannula and insert is such that the fiber ends do not protrude the bevel surface of the cannula.
Abstract:
A multi-part piston ring, containing an at least single-part spring support which is provided with a piston ring joint region and an at least single-part spring element, which is positioned in a groove provided in the region of the inner circumferential face of the spring support, wherein the wall thickness of the spring support is essentially equal in the region of the ends of the spring support facing the piston ring joint and in the rear region of the spring support, and a pocket which extends over a circumferential range of at least 60° and is created by local reduction of the wall thickness of the spring support is provided in each case between the rear region and the piston ring joint ends.
Abstract:
A device having touch sensor input functionality, comprises first and second control electrodes (40,42) lying in a common plane. The device is operable in at least two modes, comprising: a first mode in which the light transmission characteristics are altered by controlling the movement of the charged particles under the influence of control signals applied to the first and second control electrodes; and a second mode in which the first and second control electrodes are coupled to a capacitance sensing means, for detecting a change in capacitance caused by the proximity of an object to be detected.
