Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for determining or checking the plausibility of an offset angle between an assumed orientation and an actual orientation of a rotor (20) relative to a stator (10) in an electric machine (1). In the method, the electric machine is first controlled in a quasi zero-current state, in which substantially no current should flow in the windings of the electric machine. Then a voltage indicator that specifies the direction of a voltage controlled in the electric machine during the quasi zero-current state is determined and subsequently transformed into a coordinate system that is fixed with respect to the rotor. The offset angle or an angle error with respect to a previously assumed, calibrated offset angle can be determined on the basis of the transformed voltage indicator.
Abstract:
In a method for determining a power limiting value for an electric machine in a vehicle, the electric machine being assigned an energy storage device, an intermediate power value is calculated from a maximally allowable current of the energy storage device and an instantaneous voltage. A corrected intermediate power value is determined by adding at least one power loss to the intermediate power value. A first correction value is determined for reducing the absolute value of the corrected intermediate power value if an instantaneous power of the energy storage device is greater than the absolute value of the calculated intermediate power value. The power limiting value is determined by superimposing the first correction value on the corrected intermediate power value.
Abstract:
Systems and methods presented herein provide for the processing of PostScript print jobs that are not DSC compliant. A single stream of a PostScript data is processed and divided into multiple streams (e.g., page objects), each comprising data operable to render an individual page. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving the PostScript data stream and identifying object tokens in the PostScript data stream. An object token is operable to generate a PostScript object or execute a PostScript operation. A portion of the object tokens may be operable to define page boundaries in the PostScript data stream. The method also includes analyzing the object tokens to parse the object tokens into a plurality of page objects, separating the page objects into a plurality of data paths, and parallel processing the page objects through the data paths to rasterize the PostScript data stream on a page by page basis.
Abstract:
A method for operating an engine of a vehicle, the engine having a cylinder with at least a first and second valve, the method comprising during a first mode, operating with the first valve active and the second valve deactivated during a cycle of the cylinder, where during said first mode, the cylinder operates to allow at least air to enter the cylinder during an intake stroke, where the air is mixed with fuel and compressed to attain auto-ignition; and during a second mode, operating with the first and second valves active during a cycle of the cylinder, where during said second mode, cylinder operates to allow at least air to enter the cylinder, where the air is mixed with fuel and ignited via a spark from an ignition plug.
Abstract:
In an internal combustion engine with at least one injection device per cylinder for direct fuel injection into a combustion chamber, the injector nozzle is located in a top surface of the combustion chamber, which is formed in the cylinder head. In order to reduce the build-up of deposits and carbon residues in the region where the injection device enters the combustion chamber, the area around the injector nozzle is configured as a flow-directing surface for a swirl and/or tumble flow.
Abstract:
A four-stroke internal combustion engine with a gabled combustion chamber d at least two intake valves and at least two intake conduits per cylinder, of which a first intake conduit is embodied as unthrottled and a second intake conduit has a throttle device. To attain a stable radial mixture layering, it is provided that the fuel injection valve is disposed in the second intake conduit, and the throttle device in the closed state produces a defined minimum flow rate of between about 5% and about 20%, preferably about 10%, of the maximum flow rate, and that viewed in the direction of the crankshaft axis the center line of the first intake conduit in the intake valve region has a greater radius of curvature than does the center line of the second intake conduit.
Abstract:
A method for operating an electrical system in a motor vehicle having two electrical machines connected to the electrical system via one controllable inverter each. A regulated generator mode is initiated. A first step detects a drop below a first predetermined voltage in the electrical system. A second step, on the basis of an induced freewheeling voltage expected for one of the electrical machines, selects one of the inverters and actuating such that the electrical machine connected thereto is operated in electrical freewheel, with the result that the rotation of said machine induces a freewheeling voltage in the electrical system. A third step detects the rise above a second predetermined voltage for the induced electrical freewheeling voltage available in the electrical system. A fourth step actuates the inverter of the first electrical machine such that the first electrical machine connected thereto is operated in regulated generator mode.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for operating a drive train (101) of a hybrid vehicle comprising an electrical system (102), the drive train (101) having at least one vehicle drive wheel (105) in addition to one first electrical machine (104) and the first electrical machine (104) being connected to the electrical system (102). According to the invention, in order to stabilise the voltage of the electrical system (102), the first electrical machine (104) is operated without being coupled to the drive wheels (105) of the hybrid vehicle.
