    摘要： A method for accessing an information recording medium in which a data area is allocated is provided. First file management information which provides a first access method and second file management information which provides a second access method are recorded in the information recording medium. The first file management information and the second file management information manage files recorded in the information recording medium. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) reading out one of the first file management information and the second file management information; and (b) accessing the data area with the access method provided by one of the read out first file management information and the read out second file management information.

    摘要： For multiple moving-image recorded on a storage medium, one piece of meta-data or each of multiple pieces of meta-data recorded for a part or all of the moving-image is managed by meta-data indices. A meta-data index keeps invalidity information indicating whether a piece of meta-data is going to be invalid and validity information indicating validity of the current piece of meta-data in the same form, when operations such as editing and processing are performed on a part or all of a moving-image that is an object of a piece of meta-data. When cutting-out occurs on a section of a moving-image that is an object of a piece of meta-data and the piece of meta-data cannot be recalculated, the invalidity information is copied to the validity information. In this manner, a meta-data added to the moving-image can be adapted and be used after the moving-image is edited.

The recording/reproduction device is provided with a pick-up for recording or reproducing information and a control portion for controlling an operation of the pick-up, in which when reproduction is performed from an information recording medium on which in a separate area from a main sequence in which data blocks including original audio data and video data are recorded in succession, an additional sequence in which data blocks including post-record audio data are recorded in succession is formed, the control portion controls an operation of the pick-up in such a manner that the pick-up accesses the main sequence and the additional sequence alternately, and reproduces a plurality of data blocks in succession in each access.
