摘要: Examples of apparatus, methods, and compositions for endodontic treatments are described. The apparatus can include a fluid platform configured to substantially retain fluid in a tooth chamber during treatment. The fluid platform can help maintain fluid circulation in the tooth chamber as fluid flows into and out of the tooth chamber. The apparatus can also include a pressure wave generator configured to generate acoustic waves that can be used for cleaning root canals and tooth surfaces in the tooth chamber. An access opening can be formed, and the pressure wave generator can be used to remove organic material from the tooth chamber. In some treatments, after cleaning, the tooth chamber can be only partially filled by an obturation material. In other treatments, substantially the entire tooth chamber can remain unfilled by the obturation material. After cleaning the tooth, the access opening can be sealed, using, e.g., a coronal seal.

摘要: A medical device for placement of regional anesthesia catheters. The device comprises a hollow shaft needle, a plunger attached to the posterior end of the needle, a housing dimensioned so that plunger can slide inside the housing with friction, a regional anesthesia catheter preloaded inside the needle, a protective cover sheath covering the catheter, and a catheter adaptor attached to posterior end of the sheath and the catheter. The medical device allows a practitioner to quickly and effectively place a regional anesthesia catheter inside an organism without the use of an assistant, and with minimal risk of contaminating the catheter before it enters the organism's body. At the end, the needle is withdrawn inside the housing and disposed.

摘要: The invention discloses a trabecular stent and methods for treating glaucoma. The stent may incorporate an intraocular pressure sensor comprising a compressible element that is implanted inside an anterior chamber of an eye, wherein at least one external dimension of the element correlates with intraocular pressure. In some embodiments, the sensor may be coupled to the stent. Also disclosed are methods of delivery of the stent and the sensor to the eye.

摘要: A method is provided for creating composites by combining pre-fabricated nanoscale structures (nanostructures) and other materials in which the nanostructures are anchored. This method results in anchored nanostructures with their base held and encased within the anchoring material to a specified depth and with a specified length of protrusion of the nanostructures from the anchoring material. This represents a major advance over previous methods of creating composites containing nanostructures which were limited to fully embedded nanostructures or, at best, very limited and uncontrolled protrusion of nanostructures. In summary, the current method involves bringing nanostructures and anchoring materials into physical contact in a controlled fashion and optionally conducting a treatment step to complete the anchoring process.
