    摘要: An apparatus for separating blood is provided with a closed end and a thixotropic gel-like sealant with a specific gravity intermediate between the gravities of serum and clot phases. A cavity is formed on the upper surface of said sealant. The sealant consists essentially of an .alpha.-olefin-dimaleate copolymer having a viscosity from 10,000 to 120,000 c.p. (25.degree. C.), to which a viscosity-specific gravity adjusting agent is added to adjust the specific gravity to 1.035-1.055. The cavity is formed in such a size that diameter of the upper surface is from 0.15 to 0.7 times the inner diameter of the apparatus and its depth is from 0.13 to 0.65 times the thickness of said sealant.

    摘要: A blood collector comprising a collection container in the form of a tube having a forward end adapted for drawing of blood into the container and an opened rear end, a closure unit adapted for closing the opened rear end of the collection container, and a mechanism including a valving element for allowing passage of air when blood is flowing into said container and preventing passage of air and blood when said container is filled with blood, said valving element of said mechanism including an air passage and a filter member communicating with the air passage, said filter member comprising water insoluble but water-swellable polymeric material and provided at least at the contact portion of the closure member with collected blood. Air contained in the blood collecting space of the collection container is expelled through the valving element by the collected blood which rises to a desired level for expelling air from said space practically completely. As the blood contacts the water insoluble but water-swellable high polymeric material contained in filter member of the valving element, the material swells into gel body to block the air passage in the valving element connecting to outside of the collector. Thus blood analysis may be effected without influences by outside air and air otherwise contained in the blood collecting space.

    摘要: A syringe includes an outer cylinder, a gasket having at least one part which slidably contacts the inner wall of the cylinder and being made of an elastomer material including a block copolymer having styrene units at both terminal ends, and means for sliding the gasket inside the cylinder. The slidably contacting part is compressed inside the cylinder at a compressiblity C (%) of a predetermined range selected according to a particular inner diameter of the cylinder. The product of the total contact area S (mm.sup.2) at the compressibility C (%) of the contacting part with the inner wall of the cylinder with the compressibility C (%) is about 350 to about 900.
