摘要:
High flow capacity corrugated coilable dual wall plastic pipe having improved longitudinal flexibility and a bend radius sufficient to permit coiling and plowing of such pipe into the ground using automated installation equipment. The coilable dual wall pipe has an outer corrugated wall formed of a thermoplastic material such as high density polyethylene, and an inner smooth wall formed of a different more flexible and resilient thermo-bondable material that has an enhanced strain capacity and lower modulus of elasticity. The inner wall material also has enhanced mechanical properties which generally improve processing and help prevent excessive drag and tearing of the liner material during the manufacturing process. Suitable material blends for the inner wall incorporating a thermoplastic elastomer additive in combination with a thermoplastic material have proven suitable in providing the required longitudinal flexibility and pipe bend radius to permit the desired pipe coiling and plow installation without failure.

A manufacturing apparatus of three-dimensional net-like structure includes: a nozzle with a plurality of extrusion holes that are arrayed to extrude and drop downward a thermoplastic synthetic resin in a molten state and thereby form a filament assembly of a plurality of filaments; a pair of chutes arranged across longitudinal faces of the filament assembly to have inclined surfaces that are sloped toward the filament assembly and opposed to each other across a distance that is less than a short side length of the array of the extrusion holes; water supply ports arranged to supply cooling water to the inclined surfaces; and a pair of haul-off machines configured to have endless belts arranged to be in contact with the longitudinal faces of the filament assembly and haul off the filament assembly and opposed to each other across a less distance than the distance between the pair of chutes.

A method and apparatus is provided for distributing material through a multilayer pipe extrusion die. A first flow passageway, having a first cross-sectional area and extending along a first flow direction, may be connected to a second flow passageway, having a second cross-sectional area substantially the same as the first cross-sectional area of the first flow passageway, to provide a second flow direction different from the first flow direction of the first flow passageway. A conical passageway may extend from the second passageway toward a dispensing outlet. Material may be distributed from the first flow passageway into the second flow passageway. The method and apparatus may generally maintain the same flow properties of the material at a point before and after the connection of the first flow passageway and the second flow passageway. The flow properties of the material may be altered proximate to the outlet.

This specification describes an apparatus for carrying out a method of making a multi-walled pipe in the shape of a tube having a helical configuration. The apparatus is made up of an extruder with multiple dies. These multiple dies include at least two concentric arcuate dies that are radially spaced apart and a plurality of relatively straight dies that radially connect the concentric arcuate dies. The apparatus includes means for cooling the extrudate to solidify it into a usable condition. Means are provided to cause the multi-wall pipe to have a helical configuration, that is, apparatus is provided that arranges the pipe as a whole into a structure that has a circumferential component and a longitudinal component to its orientation; e.g. a helix. The longitudinal orientation is accomplished by providing apparatus that causes the pipe to proceed downstream in the direction of its longitudinal axis. In one embodiment of this invention, the extrudate is pulled longitudinally down stream. The circumferential component of the orientation of the multi-walled pipe can be accomplished by either one of two apparatus elements. First, the extrudate can be twisted (that is rotated circumferentially while it is being pulled down stream). This can be accomplished with a single piece of apparatus as shown. Thus, a longitudinal and a circumferential movement can be applied to the molten extrudate by twisting the solidified extrudate downstream of the cooling apparatus. This same configuration can be accomplished by extruding the multi-walled pipe through rotating dies whereby the extrudate is given a circumferential orientation even before it emerges from the extruder die and the circumferentially rotated pipe can then be longitudinally pulled downstream.

The technical problem of this invention is to laminate the outer layer onto the substrate layer that makes up the main body of a tube, wherein a projecting portion or portions are formed on the substrate layer or the outer layer of the tube while maintaining certain uniformity. The object of this invention is to provide the laminated tube and molded tube products comprising the laminated tube, which shows the decorative effect, derived from the laminated outer layer, and enables the user to identify the tube only by touch. The outer layer having or consisting of the axially disposed projecting portion or portions is laminated onto the substrate layer that makes up the main body of the tube. By changing the number, width, or shape of the projecting portions, it is possible to give the decorative effect and identifiable features to the laminated tube 1. The laminated tube 1 can be used to mold tube products, such as tubular containers 9 and pouch containers 10.

The invention comprises reinforced composite structural members which are formed by bonding reinforcing sections to predetermined areas on the outside surface of a hollow profile formed from a thermoplastic resin cellulosic fiber composite material, where the predetermined areas are located substantially away from the center of mass of the composite profile. The reinforcing sections have a higher modulus than the composite material used to form the hollow profile. The invention also comprises processes for forming these reinforced composite structural members.

An elongated composite tube made up of an inner tube 42 and an outer tube 44 (see FIG. 3) with a plurality of elongated helical ribs disposed between the inner tube and the outer tube in a supporting relationship to both. A slinky like toy made from the composite tube is also disclosed, as is a method of making both.

Sealable liquid-tight containers and methods for economically manufacturing such containers for storing and dispensing substances and any other purposes for which conventional sealable liquid-tight containers are utilized. The containers are readily and economically formed from mixtures of hydraulically settable binders such as hydraulic cement, gypsum and clay with water. Appropriate additives can also be added to the mixture which impart desired characteristics and properties to both the mixture and the hardened containers. The mixtures can be utilized to form containers by various methods. One method involves forming the containers without substantial mixing of the mixture, compacting the mixture and hydrating the mixture. Other methods involve molding the mixture, extruding the mixture and forming sheets from the mixture to be converted into containers. The components may also be dried, coated, lined, laminated and/or receive printing.
