The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a transmission apparatus, and a data processing method that permit sharing of a resource that is reused among a plurality of services.The reception apparatus receives content and controls, on the basis of control information that is transported together with the content and that includes resource sharing information indicating whether a resource of the content is shared among a plurality of services, storage of the resource in a storage apparatus such that the resource is shared among the plurality of services. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a television receiver that supports ATSC 3.0.

[Object] To provide an information processing device in which maintenance is enabled by avoiding an increase in an amount of the meta information when a device is remotely controlled by a client using the ABS technique.[Solution] Provided is an information processing device including: a storage unit configured to store a predetermined definition for adding a parameter to access information for accessing each of a plurality of subsegments constituting each piece of encoded data obtained by encoding same content at a different bit rate, or for accessing every element to be acquired through a request to a server described in an MPD; and a communication unit configured to access an address defined in the access information by designating a parameter based on the predetermined definition stored in the storage unit. The address defined in the access information is an address for controlling a device which images the content.

The present technology relates to a receiving device, a transmitting device, and a data processing method that can flexibly control operation of an application associated with content.Effective period information indicating a period in which an application associated with content can specify one of a first mode for controlling operation of the application according to the period and a second mode for controlling the operation of the application according to intention of an end user and, in a case where the second mode is specified as the effective period information, the operation of the application is controlled in response to an operation by the end user. The present technology can be applied to a television receiver or the like, which can receive terrestrial broadcast, for example.

A configuration is realized that receives advertisements highly likely to be viewed and ensures enhanced likelihood for reproduction on a reception apparatus by controlling a transmission order of advertisements that can be selected and output. A transmission apparatus determines a transmission order of a plurality of pieces of advertisement content that can be selected and output during an advertisement output time of a given duration on a reception apparatus and sends the pieces of content. The transmission apparatus arranges the transmission time of content highly likely to be viewed closest to the advertisement output time and arranges the transmission time of content unlikely to be viewed before the transmission time of content highly likely to be viewed. Further, the transmission apparatus sends delivery priority information (Delivery Priority) specified for each of the plurality of pieces of advertisement content to the reception apparatus so that the reception apparatus can decide whether caching is required based on priority information.

A configuration is realized such that a playback application applied in a receiving device can be determined using a service category identifier recorded in an SLT that can be received in advance. The service category identifier capable of identifying an application applied to a provided service such as a program provided by a transmitting device is transmitted to the receiving device. The receiving device performs a continuation process on an application applied before service transition when the service transition occurs and when applications applied to services before and after the transition are same. The service category identifier is an identifier capable of identifying the service by determining whether to apply a residential playback application or a broadcast playback application for playback of the service.

A class identifier indicating a group of reception devices or users that are permitted to perform data reception via a network is recorded in signaling data transmitted from a transmission device to a reception device. A reception device determines whether or not a class identifier is identical to a class identifier set to a reception device or a user and performs data reception via a network when the class identifiers are identical to each other. A URL base pattern applied to data reception via a broadcast wave or a network is recorded in signaling data, and a reception device performs data acquisition to which the URL base pattern is applied.

The method includes receiving a first segment of the content, the first segment having a first format, receiving, from a transmitting apparatus, a second segment of the content, the second segment having a second format, monitoring a network status between the receiving apparatus and the transmitting apparatus, and selecting the first segment or the second segment based on the monitored network status.

The information processing device includes: a partial image information generation unit configured to generate partial image information which is information regarding each partial image which is a part of an entire image; and a metadata generation unit configured to generate metadata to be used for supply of a bit stream of the entire image and supply of a bit stream of the partial image using the partial image information generated by the partial image information generation unit. For example, the present disclosure can be applied to an information processing device that performs a process for adaptively supplying image data.
