    摘要: The present invention provides a nematic liquid crystal composition using a 4,6-difluoroindane-based compound that has a low lower limit temperature (T→N) of the liquid crystal phase, high upper limit temperature (TN-I) of the liquid crystal phase, and wide liquid crystal phase temperature range without impairing response speed, threshold voltage and other liquid crystal characteristics within a the range of the optimal Δn as a nematic liquid crystal, and a 4,6-difluoroindane-based compound that is used in said liquid crystal composition. The nematic liquid crystal composition contains at least one type of compound having a 4,6-difluoroindan-2,5-diyl group, and the refractive index anisotropy is within the range of 0.08 to 0.15, the liquid crystal phase upper limit temperature is 70° C. or higher, the liquid crystal phase lower limit temperature is −20° C. or lower, and the difference between the liquid crystal phase upper limit temperature and liquid crystal phase lower limit temperature is 90° C. or more.

    摘要: A reflection type liquid crystal display comprises first and second substrates disposed facing each other and holding a liquid crystal exhibiting a negative dielectric constant anisotropy between them, the first substrate (10) has on the side of its surface facing the second substrate a TFT as a switching element, a reflective display electrode (50) formed of a conductive reflective material and connected to the TFT and a vertical alignment film for vertically aligning the liquid crystal molecules. The second substrate (30) has on the side facing the first substrate a counter electrode (33) including an alignment control window (36) for controlling the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules and an alignment film. The second substrate (30) has on the viewing side of the display, the side of its surface not facing the first substrate, a phase plate (44) and a polarizer (45) forms. A light diffusing layer is formed on the side of the second substrate facing or not facing the first substrate. With this configuration, the display device when viewed from the viewing side is free of the occurrence of parallax and provides a wide viewing angle.

    摘要: An installation structure can carry out a work of attaching a connector (1) to a fuel tank with one touch without using a particular equipment or requiring a great space. A holding sleeve (24) is secured to a lid plate (22) of the fuel tank with the sleeve projecting into an interior of the tank. The holding sleeve (24) is provided in its opposite outer peripheral positions with each of a pair of windows (30). An elastic clip (29) having a substantially U-shaped configuration is mounted on the holding sleeve (24) with each leg (33) of the clip (29) projecting into an interior of the sleeve (24) through each window (30). An inner connection portion (5) of the connector (1) is provided in its opposite outer peripheral position with each of a pair of engaging grooves (36). The portion (5) is also provided in its outer surface below each engaging groove (36) with an inclined guide face (38). When the portion (5) of the connector (1) is being inserted into the holding sleeve (24), the legs (33) are deflected outwardly by the guide faces (38). When the portion (5) is completely inserted in the sleeve (24), the legs (33) fit in the respective grooves (36) by their elastic recovery forces, thereby preventing the connector (1) from coming out of the lid plate (22).
