摘要: The present invention presents an SMC with which the electrically conductive layer does not break down or become non-uniform during molding and with which molded articles with excellent electromagnetic wave shielding capability and electric conductivity can be produced. This SMC is a thermosetting resin sheet molding compound having at least one continuous layer of electrically conductive fibers with a fiber length of 50 &mgr; to 5 mm, and it is further preferred that electrically conductive powder is uniformly dispersed throughout the entire molding compound. These SMCs can be produced by impregnating a reinforcing material with a thermosetting resin composition which is combined with the above-mentioned electrically conductive fibers, or the electrically conductive fibers and electrically conductive powder, and forming at least one continuous layer of these electrically conductive fibers adjacent to this reinforcement layer.

摘要: An unsaturated polyester resin composition having excellent vibration-damping properties, comprising an unsaturated polyester resin (A) having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 0° C. or more and less than 60° C. In the composition, the unsaturated polyester resin (A) may be blended with an unsaturated polyester resin (B) having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 150° C. or more and less than 200° C. or an unsaturated polyester resin (C) having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 200° C. or more. Further, the composition may contain an elastomer (D) having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of −50° C. or more and less than 100° C. Since the unsaturated polyester resin composition has excellent vibration-damping properties and moldability in a wide temperature range, it is very useful to provide molded articles such as vibration-damping structural components, especially automobile engine-related components, having excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance as well as having excellent vibration-damping properties and moldability.

摘要: In a particle measurement method and apparatus, a laser beam is directed into a fluid and the intensity of light scattered by fine particles floating in the fluid is detected by a light receiving system to determine the particle diameter. A ratio of light scattering efficiency of the particles in the fluid to that in a standard fluid is determined on the base of the refractive index of the fluid in use. The particle diameter is corrected depending upon the ratio of light scattering efficiency by correcting a set value for discriminating the particle diameter or by correcting the intensity of the detected scattered light. This compensates for errors arising from the difference of the refractive index of the fluid containing the particle to be measured and assures a high accuracy in measuring the particle size.

摘要: Disclosed is an ophthalmic measuring method and aparatus in which an optical system is used to project a laser beam at a selected spot in camera oculi of the patient's eye to be examined, and the laser light scattered therefrom is detected for ophthalmic measurement. The light scattered from the selected spot is received by a photoelectric converter in at least two directions to derive signals representing the intensity of the scattered light in these directions. These signals are then compared to remove noise components, thereby providing an improvement in a S/N ratio.
