Abstract:
A DC power source unit supplies a DC voltage to an electrically powered tool through an adapter and also charges a battery pack used as an alternative power source of the tool. With the DC power source unit of the invention, a microcomputer receives a temperature signal indicative of a temperature of the battery pack and determines that the battery pack is fully charged based on the temperature signal. This determination is made regardless of whether the battery pack is being charged or not. As such, the fully charged condition of the battery pack can be accurately detected even if the tool is operated when the battery pack is almost fully charged.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for mounting electronic components in which components are efficiently fed and transferred for enhancing productivity is provided. Tray draw-out device (6) is disposed at a component feeding unit (4) for pulling out a tray (3) accommodating electronic components (2) from the component feeding unit (4) to a given pick-up position, where the electronic components (2) are transferred by the transfer mechanism (11) on to a temporary holder (8) disposed on a draw-out arm (7) of the tray draw-out device (6). Mounting head (5) has a plurality of mounting nozzles (5a), with which the mounting head (5) picks up several electronic components (2) aligned on the temporary holder (8) at a time and mount them on to a circuit board (1) which has been loaded and located at a prescribed position.
Abstract:
At least first and second adjacent parts supply tables of a parts supply apparatus are controlled so as to avoid unnecessary movement of a one of the parts supply tables not being used in successive parts supply operations, while at the same time, ensuring that the parts supply tables are sufficiently close to one another at the time of switching over between the parts supply tables to thereby reduce the duration of the switching operation. Alternately, the two parts supply tables are moved together from one position to another to maintain an interval therebetween which allows for a rapid switch-over between the parts supply tables when necessary. However, the rate at which the parts supply table in use is moved is greater than the rate at which the parts supply table not in use is moved, whereby the two parts supply tables come to a rest at different times to thereby reduce impact vibrations.
Abstract:
An air/fuel ratio sensor to be used for controlling the ratio between the air and fuel through the detection of the air and the fuel in the exhaust gas of gas and oil combustion appliances, automobile engines or the like. The air/fuel ratio sensor has a first electrode on one face having porous zirconia electrolytic plate of through-holes, a second electrode containing at least electron -O.sup.2- ion mixed conductor on the other face. The controlling of the air/fuel ratio from the excessive fuel to the excessive air may be performed with a high S/N ratio under conditions ranging from excessive fuel to excessive air, through the measurement of the changes in the electric resistance of the second electrode by the third electrode provided on the second electrode. The sensor is simple in construction and is small and thin.

A solid-state imaging device includes a semiconductor substrate, one or more wiring interlayer films disposed on or above the semiconductor substrate, and one or more metal wires embedded in the wiring interlayer films. The one or more wiring interlayer films are composed of a diffusion preventing material that prevents the diffusion of the metal wire.
Abstract:
A small infrared sensor has a wide infrared light-receiving area (viewing angle), high electromagnetic shielding characteristics, and excellent electromagnetic-wave resistance characteristics. In the infrared sensor, supporting portions are disposed at four corners of a substantially rectangular opening in a package. The supporting portions support an optical filter, disposed so as to cover the opening, at positions that are lower than an upper end of an inner peripheral wall defining the opening. While the optical filter is supported by the supporting portions as a result of inserting a portion of a surface side of the optical filter facing the supporting portions into the opening, the optical filter is secured to the package. The optical filter and the package are joined and secured, and electrically connected to each other through a conductive adhesive.
