摘要： A flower-like nano-particle composition including a poly(alkenylbenzene) core and a poly(conjugated diene) or a poly(alkylene) surface layer is provided. The nano-particles have a mean average diameter less than about 100 nm and are substantially free of chain ends. The nano-particles can be modified via, for example, hydrogenation. The nano-particles can advantageously be incorporated into rubbers, elastomers, and thermoplastics.

The rubber composition contains a diene rubber, one or more fillers, and a low molecular weight, functionalized polymer than has the ability to interact with the fillers and act and as a replacement to the aromatic oil. The rubber compositions so produced may be used in tread rubbers and have exhibited good snow/wet traction properties and low rolling resistance.

摘要： A process for forming an elastomeric polymer gel composition includes forming a blend by combining a poly(alkenyl-co-maleimide) that includes a maleimide and at least one monomer contributed unit derived from vinyl aromatic hydrocarbons, R1R2 ethylenes, and alkyl vinyl ethers; with a maleated polyalkylene. This is followed by addition of a crosslinking agent, which is allowed to react with the poly(alkenyl-co-maleimide) and maleated polyalkylene to form a polyalkyenyl grafted poly(alkenyl-co-maleimide). The polyalkenyl grafted poly(alkenyl-co-maleimide) is further blended with a polyester.

摘要： The present invention teaches a method for enabling the formation of a high damping, soft polymer gel. The method includes: reacting a poly(alkenyl benzene-co-maleimide) polymer with a maleated polyalkylene and a maleated hydrogenated block copolymer and an alkyl diamine grafting agent under substantially dry conditions sufficient to form a hydrogenated block copolymer-polyalkylene grafted poly(alkenyl benzene-co-maleimide) polymer product; and, dispersing the hydrogenated block copolymer-polyalkylene grafted poly(alkenyl benzene-co-maleimide) polymer product with an extender oil sufficient to form the gel. The present invention also contemplates a polymer gel composition, a polymer composition and an article manufactured from the polymer gel composition.
