The present invention relates to a brass-plated steel cord capable of further improving initial adhesiveness and heat-resistant adhesiveness between a coating rubber and a steel cord and also imparting excellent durability to a resulting rubber article, and more particularly to a brass-plated steel cord, wherein an outermost surface thereof contains 0.3 to 1.7 atomic % of phosphorus, 4.93 to 14 atomic % of zinc, and 0.01 to 2.0 atomic % of a metal having an ionization tendency lower than that of zinc and higher than that of copper as measured by XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy), and an amount of zinc in the outermost surface is 30 to 90 atomic % based on 100 atomic % of a total amount of zinc and copper.

A method for making a dye-sensitized solar cell having a semiconductor film that exhibits high power generating efficiency and that can be formed at relatively low temperature is provided. Titanium oxide paste is applied and dried on a transparent conductive film 2 to form a titanium oxide layer. An aqueous peroxotitanic acid solution 11 is dropwise-placed and heated on the titanium oxide layer. During this process, the aqueous peroxotitanic acid solution penetrates sites on which titanium oxide particles 10 are not adsorbed on the transparent conductive film 2, and the aqueous peroxotitanic acid solution 11 reacts to generate titanium oxide 11A. The titanium oxide 11A is generated at gaps s,t between the titanium oxide particles 10 to form tight linkages between titanium oxide particles 10, resulting in high power generating efficiency.

The pH is preferably 10.5 to 11.8; and the concentration of the amino acid or a salt thereof is preferably 0.08 mol/L to 0.22 mol/L, more preferably 0.1 mol/L to 0.13 mol/L. As the amino acid or a salt thereof, histidine or a salt thereof may be preferably used.
