    摘要: Output buffer slew rate variation over variations in load capacitance is minimized by dividing output voltage transitions into distinct time and output current segments. During the first time segment, the first drive stage with the smallest current is employed. After subsequent delays, additional drive stages are employed and the load current is sequentially increased. Each drive stage employs a specifically sized feedback device which, depending upon its dimensions will provide either parasitic capacitance to slow transitions or positive feedback to speed up transitions. The first stages are sized to incorporate parasitic capacitance, resulting in little change in the settling time of small capacitance loads over prior art output buffers. Latter stages use positive feedback to quicken the transition time which dramatically improves the settling time for larger load capacitances over prior art output buffers.

    摘要: A folded cascade receiver amplifier with constant gain has inputs coupled to PMOS and NMOS differential transistors pairs with scaled geometries. The transconductance of both PMOS and NMOS transistors is the same whether the common mode input voltage is low or high. In a first version the transconductance of both PMOS and NMOS differential transistor pairs is reduced when the common mode input voltage is at mid-rail. Resistive means between current sources and the sources of the PMOS and NMOS transistor pairs force the current source transistors into the triode region of operation. A second version insures a constant voltage gain through control means which maintain a constant ratio of the transconductance of the output stage transistors versus the PMOS and NMOS differential transistor pairs when active.

    摘要: A spread spectrum clock generator comprises a conventional closed-loop VCO and an open-loop VCO where both are coupled to the same point of the PLL. Both VCOs comprise a V-to-I converter followed by a current-controlled oscillator and are identical in design but only the open-loop VCO receives the modulation current to generate the spread spectrum clock signal. The open-loop ICO is part of the spread spectrum generator and in one embodiment of the invention receives feedback current signals representing the modulation method and modulation ratio. This ensures that the modulated clock output tracks the PLL output frequency. In a second embodiment the closed-loop VCO receives from the spread spectrum generator the feedback current signal representing the modulation method (center/down spread) while the open-loop VCO receives the feedback signal representing the modulation ratio.
