Abstract:
A system and method for modulating cardiac blood flow of a patient by applying intermittent pressure on a limb of the patient, the system comprising a limb attachment, substantially surrounding the limb perimeter and an actuator pulling and releasing a flat member; a sensor for determining a physiological parameter relating to the patient; and a processing unit for receiving data from the sensor and issuing commands to the actuator.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a portable device for enhancing circulation in a limb comprising at least one strap for encircling the limb, a motor and a mechanism driven by said motor for intermittently actuating a first transition from a relaxed state to a strained state of the strap and a second transition from the strained state to the relaxed state. The mechanism includes at least one energy storing element operatively disposed between the motor and the strap and at least one energy releasing mechanism coupling between the energy storing element and the strap. The energy releasing mechanism enables fast release of energy stored in said storing element and the use of the energy so released to effectuate at least one abrupt transition between said relaxed and strained states.
Abstract:
A device for the introduction of a fluid into a human's airway. The air so introduced has a carefully modulated envelope of pressure vs. time. The envelope generally includes sequences of pressurized air packets of controlled frequency and pressures. The device produces the packets using pressurized air occluded by a shutter action that “chops” and interrupts the fluid stream. The vibrations induced by the device within human organs have been shown to have beneficial effects on various bodily systems, such as an increase in heart rate variability, an increase in absorbed oxygen, and a decrease in absorbed CO2.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method of producing therapeutic oscillations useful in treating a mammalian patient comprising steps of: obtaining an artificially induced vibrations device (AIVD) useful for a patients wellness for producing artificially induced vibrations of any of a given frequency, pressure, amplitude, volume and duration according to a protocol; said AIVD comprising: a. plurality of regulators, each of which is adapted to define an AIVD; b. mechanism for producing the protocol of said defined individual AIVs; and, c. effector adapted to introduce said protocol of produced AIVs to impinge in or on at least at least one body portion of a patient; wherein said therapeutic protocol of AIVs comprises two or more different individual time resolved AIVs.
Abstract:
Devices and method for introducing vibrations to a joint or joint area of a user of the device, the device comprising flexible or rigid portions or members connected there between and having a shape substantially fitting the area adjacent a joint, flexible members for attaching the rigid portions or members to the area adjacent the joint, and a vibrating mechanism for introducing vibration to the joint. The devices can apply firmer grip to the area around a joint than to the joint itself, thus activate vibrations along multiple vectors and affect multiple elements of the joint and joint area and induce healing of the joint and joint area.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method of treating nasal congestion and/or relieving sinusitis symptoms in a patient comprising attaching a vibration generating means to the patient head, at a location adjacent to sinuses to be treated, generating a vibration by said vibration generating means, and delivering the same to said patient. The present invention also discloses a device for treating nasal congestion and/or relieving sinusitis symptoms in a patient, comprising attaching means and a vibration generating means; said attaching means are in communication with the patient's head in a location adjacent to said nasal cavity, nasal passageway or sinuses to be treated; said generating means are adapted to vibrate said attaching means, to vibrate the location adjacent to said nasal cavity or sinuses and thus improved mucociliary clearance of secretions in nasal cavity or sinuses.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a pulsating inhaler, comprising a fluid oscillator providing a focused fluid column with a series of alternating high and low pressures zones; a medicament dispenser adapted for releasing small and constant measures of at least one medicament via said fluid column; and, at least one outlet orifice adapted to direct said focused fluid column towards the respiratory tract of a patient, wherein said small and constant measures of medicament are subjected to the patients while its respiratory tracts are gently and continuously vibrated The present invention also discloses a method of inhaling small and constant measures of medicament while gently and continuously vibrating the patient's respiratory tracks by a means of a fluid column characterized by a series of alternating high and low pressures zones.
Abstract:
An apparatus for supporting a body part and for facilitating enhanced circulation therein comprising a rigid supportive structure configured for encasing at least partially said body part and a compression unit mounted on said supportive structure adapted for actuating intermittent compression of said body part.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a device useful for facilitating delivery of drugs or medicaments to the respiratory system of a user. The device comprising a mechanism for interrupting the airflow during inhalation or exhalation performed by the user through the device by generating pressure pulses within the respiratory system of the user, such that the delivery of the drugs to the user is facilitated; the pressure pulses are selected from the group consisting of: inspiratory Negative Pressure (NP) pulses, inspiratory Positive Pressure (PP) pulses, expiratory Negative Pressure (NP) pulses, expiratory Positive Pressure (PP) pulses into the respiratory system, and any combination thereof.
Abstract:
A sleeve for use with a circulation enhancement device, the sleeve substantially encircles a user's leg at the region of the user's calf muscle and includes two end-straps of non-stretchable material configured to connect to opposite lateral sides of the circulation enhancement device to enable intermittent tightening and relaxing of the sleeve around the user's leg by pulling and releasing both end straps, the two end straps extend in opposite directions along a common longitudinal axis. At least one of the two end straps is connectable to the circulation enhancement device by passing through a loop in one of the opposite lateral sides of the circulation enhancement device; and at least one end strap includes attachment means configured to be attached at various positions along the sleeve, after passing through the loop, to enable adjusting the sleeve to fit the user's leg.
