摘要: Systems and methods for cleaning and disinfecting a medical therapy device that delivers any one of hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration and hemofiltration. The system has a base module that has at least one segment of a controlled compliant flow path and at least one pair of jumpered ports configured on the base module. One or more components have connections connectable to the jumpered ports of the base module to provide for fluid communication between the segment of the controlled compliant flow path in the base module and a flow path defined by the one or more components. The base module is connected to the one or more components that define a flow path configurable for carrying out in part at least one function performed during any one of hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration or hemofiltration.

The devices, systems, and methods can be compatible with a sorbent-based dialysis therapy, and open loop control of base levels in the dialysis, without sensors or feedback for controlling the introduction of bicarbonate into the dialysate. The bicarbonate levels can be controlled and personalized to a patient using certain predetermined patient parameters. Related systems, algorithms, and control systems are contemplated including the specific predetermined parameters predictive of post-dialysis bicarbonate levels.

The acid source adds an acid equivalent to provide an acid reacted fluid and the base source adds a base equivalent to provide a base reacted fluid. The source is in fluid communication with a flow path and a component for determining a fluid characteristic of the acid reacted fluid or the base reacted fluid. The fluid characteristic that is measured is any one of a gas phase pressure, an electrical conductivity, or thermal conductivity.

摘要: A method for extracorporeal blood treatment using a medical device including at least a dialyzer device, with the following steps: start of blood treatment by means of hemodialysis on the basis of default values for the hemodialysis; determination of current values or ratios of at least one blood flow, an ultrafiltration quantity, a substitution quantity or a type of substitution; recording of a therapy progress on the basis of an output signal of a sensor means; determination of a time of formation of a secondary membrane on the dialyzer by determination of a cross rate in the dialyzer device; change from the hemodialysis to a hemodiafiltration with post-dilution after a predetermined period of time has elapsed; and regulation of the substitution quantity during hemodiafiltration with post-dilution. Corresponding tools for carrying out the method are arranged in a device for extracorporeal blood treatment.

摘要: A dialysis machine useful in hemodialysis can process or treat a reverse osmosis water flow received through the machine to prepare a dialysate. The machine can include an additive source to introduce an additive, such as bicarbonate, to the reverse osmosis water flow. The machine can include a sensor in fluid communication with the additive introduction point that can measure the conductivity or similar characteristic of the solution. During a first time period when additive is actively introduced to the reverse osmosis water flow, the sensor can measure a relatively high conductivity value. During a second time period when additive is not introduced to the reverse osmosis water flow, the sensor can measure a relatively low conductivity value. The dialysis machine can include a controller that processes these measurements to assist control and operation of the machine.
