An apparatus is provided for coloring threaded material. A payout support member of the apparatus is configured to support a payout spool. A drive member is configured to rotate a takeup spool. A coloring assembly comprises a colorant applicator holding portion that is configured to receive a colorant applicator. The coloring assembly also includes a passage configured to receive a thread and to dispose the thread against the colorant applicator as the thread is wound onto the takeup spool. The coloring assembly is positioned to direct the thread drawn through the passage toward a portion of the takeup spool.

The coating device according to the invention for a workpiece comprises a flow channel which has an opening for the workpiece, through which the workpiece protrudes at least partially into the interior of the flow channel during the coating. In addition, a spraying device is provided, which is arranged in such a way that coating material can be sprayed into the interior of the flow channel by means of the spraying device. Furthermore, the coating device comprises a flow generator, which is arranged and can be operated in such a way that the flow generator produces in the flow channel a flow (L1, L2) directed in the longitudinal direction (LA) of the flow channel.

A plant for the surface decoration of elongate items includes an inlet section and an outlet section for one or more items having an external peripheral surface to be decorated, a support system for the elongated objects on a predetermined lying plane, a system for continuously forwarding the items from the inlet section to the outlet section along a longitudinal feeding direction, with the items substantially parallel to the same longitudinal direction, and a decorating system for the external surface of the items. The decorating system includes a plurality of jet devices arranged along the longitudinal direction, at least one of which is oriented to direct a jet of a pigmented substance on a portion of the external surface of the items at least partially different from another surface portion designed to be decorated by another device. A method for decorating elongate objects is also described.

A strand is coated with a powdered material by first applying a layer of hot polymer resin to the strand, and spraying the powdered material onto the resin-coated strand from at least three nozzles disposed along the processing path and spaced radially therearound. The spray apparatus is disposed within nested containers so as to limit the escape of overspray powder. The powder-coated strand may be heat-set to increase the adhesion of the powder.

An adaptor is provided for use in connection with an apparatus for lubricating a strand pulled through a conduit. The adaptor includes an entry end for receiving the strand and an exit end through which the strand exits the adaptor. A coupling is provided at the entry end of the adaptor for mating with a coupling on the lubricating apparatus. The exit end of the adaptor is sized to fit within conduit through which the strand is to be pulled.
Abstract:
An apparatus for coating stents and a method of using the same is provided. The apparatus includes a first stent support and a second stent support for supporting stents. The first and second stent supports are positioned with respect to one another in an adjacent serial configuration such that one end of the first stent support extends from an end of the adjacent second stent support. A motor can be coupled to the first stent support to rotate the first stent support such that the rotation of the first stent support rotates the second stent support. The apparatus further includes an applicator for applying a coating composition to the stents.
