    摘要: A coated tool with a hard coating layer, which has an excellent hardness and heat insulating effect; and exhibits an excellent chipping resistance and an excellent fracturing resistance for a long-term usage, is provided. The hard coating layer included in the coated tool has a chemically vapor deposited alternate laminated structure, which is made of: a region A layer and a region B layer, each of which is expressed by the composition formula of (Ti1-xAlx)(CYN1-y); and has the average total layer thickness of 1-10 μm. In the region A layer, relationships, 0.70≦x≦0.80 and 0.0005≦y≦0.005, are satisfied; the average grain width W is 0.1 μm or less; and the average grain length L is 0.1 μm or less. In the region B layer, relationships, 0.85≦x≦0.95 and 0.0005≦y≦0.005, are satisfied; the average grain width W is 0.1-2.0 μm; and the average grain length L is 0.5-5.0 μm.

    摘要: A surface treatment method can perform coated surface treatment on a cutting edge R and a rake surface, while maintaining a radius of curvature of the cutting edge R and uniformly surface-treating the rake surface. The surface treatment method includes providing an opening chamfered at corners adjacent to an upper surface of the fixture to the fixture for fixing a coated cutting insert; fixing the coated cutting insert inside the opening in such a manner that a rake surface of the coated cutting insert is disposed lower than upper surfaces of the fixture but higher than a lower edge created on the opening of the fixture by the chamfering; and conducting the surface treatment on a cutting edge R and the rake surface of the coated cutting insert.

    摘要: A method of high-speed turning of metal using a cutting tool insert for turning of steel. The cutting tool insert includes a (006) textured α-Al2O3 coated cemented carbide grade. The cemented carbide body has 4.5-6.5 wt-% Co and 3-10 wt-% cubic carbide forming metals and an S-value of 0.77-0.92 and a coercivity of 10-20 kA/m. The α-Al2O3 layer has a thickness ranging from 7 to 12 μm and is composed of columnar grains having a length/width ratio from 2 to 12 and is deposited on an MTCVD Ti(C,N) layer having a thickness from 4 to 12 μm. The alumina layer is characterised by a pronounced (006) growth texture. The alumina layer is the uppermost layer and is wet-blasted having an Ra value of less than 1 μm, giving the tool a black and shiny appearance.

    摘要: The present invention concerns a cutting tool insert for turning of steel at high cutting speeds. The cutting tool insert comprises a (006) textured α-Al2O3 coated cemented carbide grade.
