摘要： The present application discloses a ceramic preform, a method of making a ceramic preform and a metal matrix composite comprising a ceramic preform. In one exemplary embodiment, the ceramic preform comprises a ceramic compound compressed into the shape of a cylinder by rotational compression molding. The cylinder has an inner surface and an outer surface. A first liner may be attached to the inner surface of the cylinder and a second liner may attached to the outer surface of the cylinder. The metal matrix composite of the present application may be formed as a brake drum or a brake disc.

The coalescing agent comprises one or more coalescing agents that are added to the composition singly, separately or in combination to change the size and distribution of the air bubbles in the foamed gypsum slurry. The resulting gypsum cores have increased nail pull resistance and an improved facer/gypsum core bond.

摘要： The formulation for making plasterboard with paper cover sheets comprises finely divided gypsum, a minor amount by weight of starch and, as crosslinking agent for the starch, a tri-functional reactive s-triazine having substituents at positions 2, 4 and 6 of the triazine ring which are reactive with the starch. A preferred crosslinking agent is 2,4,6-trichloro-s-triazine, which is preferably partially reacted with the starch before further reaction with the paper cover sheets for the plaster board.

摘要： The present invention relates to a system and method for the production of gypsum board using starch pellets. In accordance with the present disclosure, the starch necessary for board formation is provided in the form of starch pellets. These pellets are mixed with a gypsum slurry in a mixer. The pellets are initially insoluble and do not dissolve. However, during subsequent drying stages, the pellets become soluble and dissolve into the gypsum phase. This both provides the desired starch component and also results in the formation of voids within the set gypsum.

摘要： A foam injection system for use in the manufacture of cementitious products includes a foam injection body and first and second port inserts. The foam injection body defines a slurry passageway and a port passageway having a port opening in fluid communication with the slurry passageway. The first and second port inserts respectively define first and second foam passageways having first and second orifice sizes. The first and second orifice sizes are different. The first and second port inserts are adapted to removably mount to the foam injection body such that the respective foam passageway is in fluid communication with the slurry passageway via the port opening of the port passageway. One port insert can be replaced with another to readily vary the pressure of the foam passing through the particular port insert and injected into a cementitious slurry traveling through the slurry passageway.

摘要： Low embodied energy wallboards and methods for forming same are disclosed. A wallboard can include at least one industrial material in an amorphous phase and at least one alkali-activating agent. The amorphous phase industrial material can be slag, fly ash, silica fume, and/or lime kiln dust. The alkali-activating agent can be calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium sesquicarbonate, sodium silicate, calcium silicate, magnesium silicate and/or calcium aluminate. Additional wallboard components can include water, a foam filler, paper, industrial material in a crystalline phase, and/or polyethylene fibers, polypropylene fibers, and/or other synthetic fibers.
