摘要: Methods and apparatus for obtaining status from an isolated AP that cannot connect to a remote management server are described. The status information is obtained from a second device and then provided, via the second device, to the remote management server. At least some of the disclosed embodiments are utilized in a system including a plurality of access points, which can provide alternate pathways to the remote management server. The remote management server determines a remedial action based on the status information.

摘要: A wireless communication system transmits information to a communication terminal moving through a spot wireless area. In an integrated base station, an external information communication section controls communication with a server. A contents memory section stores contents received from the server. A wireless LAN communication section communicates with the communication terminal. A control section establishes connection with the communication terminal using a first connection not requiring an authentication procedure for connection with the communication terminal or using a second connection requiring the authentication procedure for connection with the communication terminal. An access control (restriction) section permits access from the communication terminal to the contents memory section and prohibits access to the server when a type of connection with the communication terminal is the first connection and permits access from the communication terminal to the contents memory section and to the server in the case of the second connection.

摘要: The present invention discloses a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Bluetooth (BT) device including a WLAN circuit and a BT circuit. The WLAN circuit starts a WLAN slot according to a beacon of a beacon signal from an access point and executes WLAN communication. The WLAN slot ends after a measured reception time point of the beacon so as to prevent missing the beacon. The BT circuit starts a BT slot after the end of the WLAN slot and executes BT communication. If the BT slot is shorter than the period of the beacon signal minus the WLAN slot, the WLAN circuit earns additional time to start an extended WLAN slot after the end of the BT slot for carrying on the WLAN communication. The extended WLAN slot is not longer than the period of the beacon signal minus the sum of the WLAN and BT slots.

摘要: Methods and systems for accessing networks prohibit uncontrolled communications over a designated network. In some aspects, a method of controlling network access is disclosed. The method comprises transmitting, by a first access point, a first beacon over a first network to a station, the first beacon including information allowing the station to associate with the first access point. The method also comprises receiving a probe request at the first access point over the first network from the station, the probe request including a request for rules for associating with a second network. The method additional comprises generating a probe response to include the rules regarding associating with the second network, wherein the rules do not permit uncontrolled communications over the second network. The method further comprises transmitting the probe response from the first access point to the station over the first network.

摘要: An endpoint device may be operable to transmit and receive data wirelessly via a medium to which access is time-division multiplexed into a plurality of repeating windows. A first window of the plurality of repeating windows may be time-division multiplexed into a plurality of timeslots utilized for transmitting beacon signals. A second window of the plurality of repeating windows may be time-division multiplexed into a plurality of timeslots utilized for transmitting alarm signals. The endpoint may be assigned one of the first timeslots and, when an alarm condition is present, select one of the second timeslots for transmitting an alarm signal based on the assigned first timeslot, and based on a hash function. The endpoint may then transmit an alarm signal during the second timeslot. The endpoint may be operable to synchronize its local clock by listening to beacons transmitted by other endpoints.

Timing information regarding power save opportunities (PSOPs) may be provided in communication frames, which may inform mobile devices of expected frame exchange periods during which they may transition to a Doze state. Additional PSOP information may be included in beacon frames, which may inform mobile devices of expected multicast periods during which they may transition to a Doze state. This may operate to provide improvements in terms of power consumption.

摘要: A system and method for tracking an article is described. The article may be baggage passing through an airport terminal or another venue. The system comprises a beacon associated with a baggage article, a plurality of relaying bridges, and a tracking service. Short-range radio signals including a beacon identifier and a beacon transmission power are emitted by the beacon associated with a baggage article and detected by a plurality of relaying bridges. The relaying bridges calculate a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), convert the short-range radio signal to a relay signal and transmit the relay signal including a unique relaying bridge identifier and RSSI information via a network. The tracking service receives data from the relay signal, attaches a time stamp to the received data, stores the time-stamped data, and determines from the stored data the time when the article arrives at a point of interest.
