    摘要: A pump for applying pre-mixed cement, and similar mud-like flowable materials, employs power driven oppositely reciprocating pistons sliding in a pair of cylinders for pumping action. A control manifold, having a single cement discharge outlet, interconnects combined suction and discharge outlets of each pump cylinder with a cement supply hopper manifold inlet. Two manifold pump response chambers, and a single discharge chamber in flow communication with one another within the manifold, together with associated valving within each chamber, provides for unidirectional flow of cement under pressure from the manifold discharge outlet solely in response to the movement of the pistons within the pump cylinders. The pump response chamber valves have adjustable valve openings so that the pump may be employed with flowable materials of varying viscosity.

    摘要: An inline valve pump design is provided wherein the suction and the discharge valves operate along a central axis coincident and inline with a reciprocating plunger. The reciprocating plunger operates within a cylinder and a stuffing box which are independently secured by separate securing means to the drive housing of the pump. The cylinder thus secured by these independent securing means to the pump housing is also provided with an outer end having a large threaded portion to which a mounting adapter ring is secured. This ring in turn provides the mounted base to which further securing means, independent of the securing means holding the cylinder and stuffing box to the drive housing, are attached. These second or further securing means are effective to attach the suction and discharge manifold assemblies to the head of the cylinder, and in so doing capture the inline suction and discharge valve assembly to the cylinder head. This structural arrangement of the pump elements into, in effect, two separate and independently maintainable subassemblies, allows for easy maintenance and disassembly of the fluid end of the pump without disassembling the power end of the pump incorporating the cylinder and stuffing box means attached to the drive housing. Another aspect of the present invention is that an optimized arrangement of passageways and suction valve return spring location is employed to enhance the volumetric efficiency of the pump.

    摘要: A pumping apparatus for moving a pumped fluid from a reservoir to a destination in response to variations in the pressure of a pumping fluid includes a pump housing; a pumping chamber; an input passageway; an exit passageway; and a passageway network between the input passageway and the exit passageway. A diaphragm divides the pumping chamber into first and second volumes for respectively receiving the pumped and the pumping fluids. Apparatus is provided for intermittantly varying the pressure of the pumping fluid. A first diaphragm valve responsive to variations in the pressure of the pumped fluid is positioned between the input passageway and the passageway network. A second valve also responsive to variations in the pressure of the pumped fluid is positioned in the passageway network for being opened when the first valve is closed and visa versa. A third valve is positioned between the exit passageway and the second valve in the passageway network to prevent pumped fluid flowthrough caused by a pressure head at the input or exit ports.

    摘要: A single acting steam engine wherein means are provided for auxiliary exhaust through the piston when the auxiliary exhaust poppet is open and the auxiliary exchange passages of the piston register with the exhaust ports in the cylinder wall. The opening and closing of the auxiliary exhaust poppet are responsive to the rate of reciprocation of the pistons. A multiple of said engines may be utilized in combination to provide a multiple cylinder power plant. The engines drive a swash plate, which is formed with recessed, annular thrust surfaces. Projecting at right angles from the recessed, thrust surfaces are exhaust cams that engage valve stems through cam followers for actuating the same. The valve stems actuate the exhaust valves. The throat thickness of the swash plate between the recessed annular thrust surfaces is of uniform dimension along the circumferential paths thereof. The recessed, annular thrust surfaces have their axes coincident with the axis of rotation of the swash plate so that the radial components thereof are at right angles to the axis of rotation of the swash plate.
