Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of conductively coupling a plurality of relatively physically small core dies to a relatively physically larger base die using an electrical mesh network that is formed in whole or in part in, on, across, or about all or a portion of the base die. Electrical mesh networks beneficially permit the positioning of the cores in close proximity to support circuitry carried by the base die. The minimal separation between the core circuitry and the support circuitry advantageously improves communication bandwidth while reducing power consumption. Each of the cores may include functionally dedicated circuitry such as processor core circuitry, field programmable logic, memory, or graphics processing circuitry. The use of core dies beneficially and advantageously permits the use of a wide variety of cores, each having a common or similar interface to the electrical mesh network.
Abstract:
A device and method for managing power in a wireless telecommunication system. A telecommunication device operates in a power saving mode during a sleep interval whenever possible to minimize power drain. The telecommunication device monitors various device, channel and network parameters and dynamically adjusts the duration of the sleep interval based on the monitored parameters in order to optimize power savings.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method to indicate compatibility is described. A link to a web page is obtained. A set of capabilities associated with a device is obtained. A set of requirements associated with the web page is obtained. A compatibility result is determined for the web page based on the set of capabilities and the set of requirements. The compatibility result is indicated in connection with the link to the web page.
Abstract:
System and method to inspect hygienic articles. Defects are detected using a vision system by comparing an inspection image of a component to a reference image of a defect-free component. Detection of a defect can then be used to reject components and perform other functions.
Abstract:
A system to assist in at least one of the evaluation of or the improvement of skills to perform minimally invasive surgery includes a minimally invasive surgical system, a video system arranged to record at least one of a user's interaction with the minimally invasive surgical system or tasks performed with the minimally invasive surgical system, and a data storage and processing system in communication with the minimally invasive surgical system and in communication with the video system. The minimally invasive surgical system provides at least one of motion data, ergonomics adjustment data, electrical interface interaction data or mechanical interface interaction data of at least a component of the minimally invasive surgical system in conjunction with time registered video signals from the video system. The data storage and processing system processes the at least one of motion data, ergonomics adjustment data, electrical interface interaction data or mechanical interface interaction data to provide a performance metric in conjunction with the time registered video signals to be made available to an expert for evaluation.
Abstract:
A system and method for visualization of subsurface anatomy includes obtaining a first image from a first camera and a second image from a second camera or a second channel of the first camera, where the first and second images contain shared anatomical structures. The second camera and the second channel of the first camera are capable of imaging anatomy beneath the surface in ultra-violet, visual, or infra-red spectrum. A data processor is configured for computing registration of the first image to the second image to provide visualization of subsurface anatomy during surgical procedures. A visual interface displays the registered visualization of the first and second images. The system and method are particularly useful for imaging during minimally invasive surgery, such as robotic surgery.
Abstract:
An example embodiment may include an apparatus comprising a message buffer to receive messages from a voice over packet endpoint if impairments in a media stream pass a threshold, and a processor coupled with the message buffer, the processor to determine changes to media characteristics for the voice over packet endpoint in relation to the impairments and to signal the voice over packet endpoints to adjust media characteristics of the media stream in both directions. Another example embodiment may be a method comprising monitoring a voice over packet media stream for impairments, computing Voice over packet quality metrics based on the impairments, sending or receiving the Voice over packet quality metrics to or from a session peer, when a threshold is crossed for the Voice over packet quality metrics, sending an event notification to a central entity, and changing media characteristics of the voice over packet media stream in relation to the impairments as directed by the central entity.
Abstract:
A SiC semiconductor device includes: a SiC substrate made of intrinsic SiC having semi-insulating property; first and second conductive type SiC layers disposed in the substrate; an insulation separation layer made of intrinsic SiC for isolating the first conductive type SiC layer from the second conductive type SiC layer; first and second conductive type channel JFETs disposed in the first and second conductive type SiC layers, respectively. The first and second conductive type channel JFETs provide a complementary junction field effect transistor. Since an electric element is formed on a flat surface, a manufacturing method is simplified. Further, noise propagation at high frequency and current leakage at high temperature are restricted.
Abstract:
This invention describes the discovery and synthesis of N-thiolated 2-oxazolidinones as a new class of anti bacterial agents. These compounds can be synthesized from 2-oxazolidinones by Ndeprotection and N-sulfenylation. These new substances were found to exhibit potent anti-bacterial activity, including bacteriostatic properties against Staphylococcus spp., including methicillin resistant Staphylcoccus aureus (MRSA), and Bacillus spp., including Bacillus anthracis.
Abstract:
An example method is provided and includes establishing a session for a mobile node, and evaluating a plurality of label switched paths (LSPs) in response to the mobile node experiencing a handoff between a source packet data serving node (SPDSN) and a target PDSN (TPDSN). The method can also include provisioning a sub-tunnel with a first tunnel, which is associated with a selected label switched path. The selected label switched path is associated with a high priority type of data having a low latency characteristic.
