Abstract: A method for detecting abnormal changes in real-time in dynamic graphs. The method includes extracting, by a graph sampler, an active sampled graph from an underlying base graph. The method further includes merging, by a graph merger, the active sampled graph with graph updates within a predetermined recent time period to generate a merged graph. The method also includes computing, by a graph diameter computer, a diameter of the merged graph. The method additionally includes determining, by a graph diameter change determination device, whether a graph diameter change exists. The method further includes generating, by an alarm generator, a user-perceptible alarm responsive to the graph diameter change.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for distributed acoustic sensing in a multicore optical fiber. The system includes a transmitter for simultaneously propagating a sequence of M light pulses through the multicore optical fiber using a spatial mode selected from a set of N spatial modes provided by a spatial mode selector for the transmitter that is coupled to an input to the multicore optical fiber, with M and N being respective integers greater than one. The system further includes a receiver for receiving the sequence of M light pulses at an output of the multicore optical fiber and detecting an environmental perturbation in the multicore optical fiber based on an evaluation of a propagation of the sequence of M light pulses through the multicore optical fiber.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe apparatus, methods and systems for monitoring the operational status of fire extinguishers through the utilization of optically sensed, color profile determinations of a pressure gauge positioned on the fire extinguisher as well as the utilization of vibrational, and location sensing devices. Advantageously, monitoring apparatus according to the present disclosure are networkable, and a number of their operational characteristics may be configured via the network and associated servers. Furthermore, monitoring apparatus according to the present disclosure may employ vibrational, acceleration, GPS, RFID, and ultrasonic sensors to detect movement, location, and obstructions. In sharp contrast to the prior art, apparatus, methods and systems according to the present disclosure operate with existing fire extinguishers and provide a convenient, cost effective, and highly functional upgrade path for deployed fire extinguishers.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for automatically analyzing log contents received via a network and detecting content-level anomalies is presented. The computer-implemented method includes building a statistical model based on contents of a set of training logs and detecting, based on the set of training logs, content-level anomalies for a set of testing logs. The method further includes maintaining an index and metadata, generating attributes for fields, editing model capability to incorporate user domain knowledge, detecting anomalies using field attributes, and improving anomaly quality by using user feedback.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and computer program product are provided for demand charge management. The method includes receiving an active power demand for a facility, a current load demand charge threshold (DCT) profile for the facility, and a plurality of previously observed load DCT profiles. The method also includes generating a forecast model from a data set of DCT values based on the current load DCT profile for the facility and the plurality of previously observed load DCT profiles. The method additionally includes forecasting a monthly DCT value for the facility using the forecast model. The method further includes preventing actual power used from a utility from exceeding the next month DCT value by discharging a battery storage system into a behind the meter power infrastructure for the facility.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for driving assistance. The system includes an image capture device configured to capture a video sequence, relative to an outward view from a vehicle, which includes a set of objects and is formed from a set of image frames. The system includes a processor configured to detect the objects to form a set of object detections, and track the set of object detections over the frames to form tracked detections. The processor is configured to generate for a current frame, responsive to conditions, a set of sparse object proposals for a current location of an object based on: (i) the tracked detections of the object from an immediately previous frame; and (ii) detection proposals for the object derived from the current frame. The processor is configured to perform an action to mitigate a likelihood of potential harmful due to a current object location.

Abstract: A multi-object tracking system and method are provided. The multi-object tracking system includes at least one camera configured to capture a set of input images of a set of objects to be tracked. The multi-object tracking system further includes a memory storing a learning model configured to perform multi-object tracking by jointly learning arbitrarily parameterized and differentiable cost functions for all variables in a linear program that associates object detections with bounding boxes to form trajectories. The multi-object tracking system also includes a processor configured to (i) detect the objects and track locations of the objects by applying the learning model to the set of input images in a multi-object tracking task, and (ii), provide a listing of the objects and the locations of the objects for the multi-object tracking task. A bi-level optimization is used to minimize a loss defined on a solution of the linear program.
