    Abstract: Disclosed is a system for filtering airborne particles from an occupied space. The system permits the removal of airborne particles by manipulating both the charge and the size of the particles, thus enabling the capture of particles that most other typical filtration systems leave behind. More specifically, the system captures small airborne particles through the use of a series of electric fields, forcing them to be trapped in a series of filters or collide to form larger particles, whereby their movement and capture are subsequently governed primarily by airflow. The system controls particle behavior by utilizing specific electromagnetic fields to collide particles, capture particles, and deactivate live pathogens that get captured.

    Abstract: A vertical electrostatic coalescer comprises a first and second electrode surface and a horizontally disposed foraminous surface. The first electrode surface and horizontally disposed foraminous surface are at ground potential. The first and second electrode surfaces share the same planar orientation relative to the central longitudinal axis of the vessel. The unique arrangement of the vessel and opposing pairs of first and second electrode surfaces provides for a substantially uniform voltage field around a perimeter of the vessel and an effective voltage field for coalescence within a center of the vessel. A circular-shaped distributor pipe or a distributor housing serves to absorb momentum of the incoming emulsion stream and distribute the stream into an interior of the vessel.

    Abstract: An improved HVAC system is provided for the delivery of a temperature controlled air supply via one or more air curtains provided at windows, doors and walls. The air curtains create a double layer of insulation over the surface of a window, door or wall. The invention provides for the use of the temperature controlled air flow from the air curtain to directly affect the interior room temperature. The invention provides an improved system for continuous cleaning the recycled air through the use of a wet electrostatic precipitator in the HVAC air flow, as well as providing a higher speed mode for the air curtain to prevent the inflow of particles and contaminants from outside of the building, when windows or doors are open. The invention may be installed on existing construction, or incorporated as part of new construction.

    Abstract: An air treatment device having a plasma generator electrostatic precipitator assembly, is provided. The assembly includes an electrostatic precipitator configured to charge airborne particles in the vicinity of the electrostatic precipitator to provide charged airborne particles, and a plasma generator positioned in proximity to the electrostatic precipitator and configured for cooperation with the electrostatic precipitator. The plasma generator is configured to discharge plasma and provide an inactivation zone in the region of the plasma generator operable to inactivate airborne particles. The air treatment device directs the charged airborne particles generated by the electrostatic precipitator into the inactivation zone such that the air treatment device is adapted to generate charged airborne particles and then immediately, to direct the charged airborne particles into the inactivation zone so as to expose the charged airborne particles to plasma in the inactivation zone.

    Abstract: A particulate filtration apparatus, for exhaust gases, combustion gases and the like, comprising an enclosure (2) that can be arranged along a circuit (3) for the output of a flow of exhaust gases, combustion gases and the like, prior to their release into the outside environment.     Abstract: A device for the mitigation of smoke and particulate suspended in an insufflated body cavity during minimally invasive surgical procedures consist of a single electrode manufactured within and/or on a trocar shaft, or any other laparoscopic or endoscopic instrument. The electrode is made of any electrically active material with many hundreds or thousands of extremely fine terminal points, such as carbon fiber or laser etched metals. The electrode is electrically connectable to the neutral (negative) pole of a source of high voltage direct current (DC) electricity and the positive pole of the same electrical source is grounded or terminally insulated. When the positive electrical pole is connected to the ground and the carbon fiber or etched metal electrode is connected the negative pole, anions stream from the terminal ends of the terminal ends attracting smoke, and any other particulate suspended in the cavity, causing them to precipitate out of the suspending gas and therefore clearing the surgeon's view.
