Abstract:
A door actuating system has a fractional horsepower motor mounted on the door adjacent its free edge, driving a clutch connected to a duplex capstan pulley that is wrapped by two tensioned flexible static lines, for opening/closing movement ‘along the line’. The motor also drives a gear that engages a rack projecting from the door frame, to displace the door relative to its frame. Rotation of the gear is read by a rotary encoder, which feeds a microprocessor, to continuously monitor the location, speed and direction of motion of the door, for both the ‘on’ and the ‘off’ condition of the electric motor. A latching clip over-rides action of the original door latch.
Abstract:
A system and method for driving a drawer of a refrigerator and a refrigerator employing this system is provided. This system and method allows the drawer to substantially immediately and automatically stop when the drawer encounters an obstacle. This type of automatic control of the drawer may enhance the safe operation of the drawer, prevent injuries to users, and prevent overload and subsequent malfunction of a drive motor used to move the drawer.
Abstract:
A moving apparatus forcefully moves a movable body backward up to the position at the end of backward movement after moving it backward to a prescribed position during backward movement, and it has a pair of sliders having first slider and a second slider and an impelling device. In the position before forward movement of the movable body, the second slider is locked against sliding and the first slider is made free to slide by catching a first engaging part, and in the position at the end of forward movement of the movable body, the first slider is locked against sliding by a first slide lock part in a state having released the first engaging part, and the second slider is made free to slide in a state having caught the second engaging part. In the course of operating the movable body to move backward up to a prescribed position, force is accumulated in the impelling device, and when it reaches the prescribed position, the second slider releases the second engaging part and is locked against sliding, and the first slider catches the first engaging part and is made free to slide.
Abstract:
Furniture hinge with damping device which is insertable into the box of the hinge and fixable therein before the box is assembled with the other components of the hinge. In this way the damping device is protected against external actions, such as impact or pressure that can damage or affect the functioning of the device, by the same box made of steel or of another rigid material.
Abstract:
A folding leaf gate comprising a post hung section hingedly attachable to a gate post and at least one leaf hung section hingedly connected in series with the post hung section by means of one or more section hinges, wherein the folding leaf gate additionally includes a rotating device associated with the or each leaf hung section and sharing a common axis of rotation with the or each section hinge and secured in a static relationship to a leaf hung section whereby rotation of the or each rotating device causes rotation of a leaf hung section about the or each section hinge, and one or more translating devices engaging the or each rotating devices, the one or more translating device being configured, when in use, to translate rotational motion of the post hung section about a gate post to rotation of the one or more rotating devices whereby simultaneously to open a gateway closed by the folding leaf gate and fold the folding leaf gate in two or more.
Abstract:
A slider window assembly for a motor vehicle includes a peripheral frame, at least one fixed panel located within the frame and adjacent an opening and a slider panel located within the frame and movable between a closed position wherein the slider panel covers the opening and an open position wherein the slider panel does not entirely close the opening. A drive assembly is operably connected to the slider panel to selectively move the slider panel between the closed and open positions. The drive assembly includes a rack secured to the slider panel, an electric motor secured to a fixed position on the slider window assembly, and a gear operably connected to the motor and operably engaging the rack so that operation of the motor in opposite directions moves the slider panel in opposite directions between the closed and open positions.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a rotary damper for controlling the operating speed of an operating part, such as a power outlet or an ash tray, of a vehicle. The rotary damper uniformly controls the operating speed of an operating part having a complex track. The rotary damper includes an operating part mounted in the interior in a vehicle in such a manner that the operating part can be introduced or withdrawn, an operating part case for guiding a path of the operating part, a pinion gear mounted to one side of the operating part, and a guide rail rotatably mounted to the operating part case such that the pinion gear can be engaged with the guide rail.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a damping device for parts of furniture which are joined together by means of hinges and which can be pivoted in relation to each other. The housing contains a damping fluid in the cavity thereof and a resistance element which can be displaced relative to the dumping fluid and connected to an actuating element protruding from the housing. During at least one part of the pivoting movement of both pieces of furniture, said actuating element is drivingly connected to the second piece of furniture and transfers the movement distributed to the second piece of furniture to the resistance element. The damping device is arranged in the region of at least one of the hinges which pivotally couples both pieces of furniture, and whereby either the damping housing and/or the actuating element engages with one of the mounting element of the corresponding hinges, at least during the damping process.
Abstract:
A continuous roll of screen which may be payed out from said roll by an installer or manufacturer to a required predetermined window size, or alternatively patio door size, said screen comprising a free end which allows the installer to pay the screen off of the roll upon which the screen is accumulated course upon course, one end of said screen being disposed at the end of the courses accumulated on the roll from which the screening is payed off and the other end being a free end, said screen having side edges and preferably being manufactured from preferably vinyl-coated fiberglass, the edges of said screen having affixed thereto a generally preferably T-shaped key manufactured from a flexible material, for example polyvinyl chloride, which is affixed preferably by radio frequency welding (or RF welding) with the edges and preferably each of the edges, and in one embodiment at least one edge of said screen, wherein the vinyl coating provided on the screen melds with the polyvinyl chloride key to form a resilient anchor for the screen device within any screen roller assembly.
Abstract:
An automatically opening/closing apparatus for vehicle of rack-and-pinion type is reduced in size and weight. The automatically opening/closing apparatus for vehicle is automatically opened/closed, by transmitting rotation of an electric motor to a back door through a drive power transmitting mechanism comprising a pinion and a rack. The rack is supported linearly reciprocably by a slide mechanism comprising a slide block and a guide rail. The slide block is formed to be sufficiently short to the entire length of the rack and the guide rail is accordingly formed to be short. Further, the rack is provided with a groove portion, and a holding member contacting with a holding face is disposed in the groove portion. Then, an interval between the rack and the opinion is maintained by the holding member, whereby engagement of the pinion therewith is ensured.
