Abstract:
Design of a disposable screen printed electrode (SPE) for sensing percentage glycated hemoglobin using electrochemistry is disclosed. SPE has four electrodes, one working electrode for the detection of glycated hemoglobin, one working electrode for the detection of hemoglobin and the other two electrodes are counter and reference electrodes that are common for both detection schemes. It also has a cellulose acetate membrane with lysis agents and surfactant embedded in it. Lysis agents lyse erythrocytes and release hemoglobin. Surfactants modify hemoglobin structure and enhance the rate the electron transfer and thereby the output signal during the electrochemical analysis. The SPE is low cost and user friendly. The only input from the user is a drop of blood.

Abstract:
Computer-readable media, computer systems, and computing methods are provided for implicitly discovering applications that have a corresponding location. Initially, an application manifest is constructed that maintains a mapping between apps and their respective geographic boundaries. In operation, upon detecting a location signal being transmitted from a mobile device, the location signal is employed to identify a set of valid applications. Generally, the location signal represents location-based information entered to or received from the mobile device. Identifying the set of valid applications involves comparing the location signal against the application manifest and, based on the comparison, designating those apps that are mapped to geographic boundaries that meet the location signal as the set of valid applications. Upon identifying the set of valid applications, a selection of apps included within the set of valid applications is sent to the mobile device for display to the user within a operational context.
Abstract:
Applications (“apps”), through which a service may be accessed, may be identified to a user, along with a preview of the app. In one example, a user performs a search for a service. The search engine may return the web site through which the service is provided, and/or the app associated with that service. Preview content that describes the app may also be provided. The content may be variable, and may be filled in based on contextual information such as a search query string or user information. If the app is installed, then clicking, tapping, or otherwise activating the app may launch the app, possibly with context information being provided to the app. If the app is not installed, then a link to obtain the app may be provided.

The method includes determining a first active power reference and a first reactive power reference indicating a requested amount of active power and reactive power, respectively, depending on at least a wind turbine operation strategy; determining a positive and negative sequence components of a grid voltage; determining indications of an actual amount of active power and reactive power to be supplied by the grid side converter to the grid, respectively; generating a parameters defining a proportion of positive sequence current component and negative sequence current component to be injected by the grid side converter in order to supply active power and reactive power; and supplying, with the grid side converter, active and reactive power to the power line based on the current reference.
Abstract:
A power conversion system for converting electrical power from at least one power source includes a plurality of converter chains which couple the at least one power source to at least one load. At least two of the converter chains comprise an associated dissipating unit. The dissipating units are coupled via at least one switch. A controller is arranged to control the at least one switch to route power to be dissipated from one of the converter chains to the converter chain's associated dissipating unit, or to at least one of the other dissipating units, or to the converter chain's associated dissipating unit and to at least one of the other dissipating units, to cause corresponding dissipation of the power to be dissipated.
Abstract:
A Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter and a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) scheme for controlling the DAB converter are disclosed. In general, the DAB converter includes a transformer, a first H-bridge that is connected to a primary winding of the transformer and controlled via first control signals, and a second H-bridge that is connected to a secondary winding of the transformer and controlled via second control signals. A controller provides the first and second control signals based on an input-to-output voltage ratio and load of the DAB converter such that, in addition to phase shift control, PWM control is simultaneously applied to both the first H-bridge and the second H-bridge when the DAB converter operates at low power and PWM control is applied to only one of the first H-bridge and the second H-bridge when the DAB converter operates above low power.

Information related to the ascertained topic of conversation is obtained, and the obtained information is displayed to at least one conversation participant during the conversation.
Abstract:
A method of timing analysis of an integrated circuit (IC) design with a partition block including an original clock signal with a pair of clock paths having an external common point outside the block boundary is disclosed, including receiving a netlist of the partition block of a hierarchical IC design, analyzing a pair of clock paths having the external common point to determine first and second clock ports at the boundary of the partition block; and for the first and second clock ports, creating launch and capture clocks, making exclusive clock groups of the launch clock and the capture clock for opposing clock ports to avoid the launch and capture clocks for each port affecting other internal data paths within the partition block, and associating common path pessimism removal information with a source latency of the capture clock to adjust timing at an end point of the internal data path.
Abstract:
According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method of controlling a grid side converter of a wind turbine is provided, wherein an output of the grid side converter is connected or connectable via a power line to an input of a grid transformer, the method comprising: determining a converter volt-sec occurring at the output of the grid side converter based on a converter voltage occurring at the output of the grid side converter; determining a volt-sec error between the determined converter volt-sec and a converter volt-sec reference, wherein the converter volt-sec reference is determined based on active power reference, reactive power reference, line current and a line voltage occurring at the input of the grid transformer (or at wind turbine terminals); and controlling, based on the determined volt-sec error, the grid side converter such that the volt-sec error is partly or fully compensated. The method is capable of supporting the demanded power quality even during abnormal voltage conditions, and is easy to realize. The method can seamlessly transit from linear to non-linear region of converter operation.
