Abstract:
Apparatus for producing liquid or solid xenon comprises a duct 12 having an inlet 14 for receiving gaseous xenon and an outlet 16 for outputting gaseous xenon at a reduced temperature to a nozzle located in a vacuum chamber 60. A housing 18 extends about the duct and contains a halocarbon coolant in thermal contact with the duct, and a second duct 24 in thermal contact with the halocarbon coolant for conveying a flow of liquid nitrogen through the housing 18 to control the temperature of the halocarbon. In view of the difference in the pressure of the xenon gas output from the duct and the pressure in the chamber, the thus-cooled gas is caused to liquefy or solidify in the vicinity of the nozzle.
Abstract:
In a self-igniting possible range, both intake and exhaust valves are placed in a closure condition for a period from the end of an exhaust stroke and the beginning of an intake stroke for establishing a negative overlap period in which a residual gas is pressurized to increase its temperature, thus raising the air fuel mixture temperature in a combustion chamber up to a self-igniting possible temperature. In addition, when a crank angle reaches a predetermined crank angle in the first half of an intake stroke, a fuel is injected from an in-cylinder injector into the combustion chamber. This fuel injected becomes a premixed air fuel because of being evaporated by the gas temperature in the combustion chamber, and on shifting to a compression stroke afterwards, the temperature in the combustion chamber reaches the self-igniting possible temperature.
Abstract:
A VCO has n inverters connected to each other in a ring, wherein the inverters have a depletion-mode FET. A selector control circuit produces a select signal based upon a threshold voltage of a selector depletion-mode FET to select one of an output derived from a (n−i)-th inverter, or another output signal derived from the n-th inverter. Because the selector FET and the inverter FETs are made using the same process steps and thus have the same device parameters, the selector FET has the same threshold voltage variation as the inverter FETs. Based upon the variation in the FET threshold voltage, the selected output is provided to an input of a first inverter. The VCO operates at a constant frequency by changing the total number of inverters in the ring to compensate for the variation in the threshold voltage of the depletion-mode FETs in the inverters, as determined by the depletion-mode FET in the selector circuit.
Abstract:
A roulette-like ball game machine has a rotary disk with a plurality of pockets arranged in a peripheral direction and assigned a number respectively, and a guide circle provided around the rotary disk at a somewhat higher position and joining to the rotary disk through an inclined surface. While the rotary disk is turned, a ball rolled along the guide circle falls inside and enters one of the pockets to decide a prize number. In such a ball game machine, a plurality of operation stands are arranged around the guide circle, the rotary disk is formed in an annular shape having a large inner diameter, a large-sized picture surface is provided within the central space of the rotary disk and various pictures are projected on the picture surface by an image projector.
Abstract:
The electronic musical instrument is provided with a tone production means having tone production channels less than the total number of keys, a performance mode change detecting means, and a means for controlling tone production assignment of the tone production channels. The tone production assignment is controlled by depressed keys to one of the detecting means to produce a tone from one of the channel groups grouped according to the output of the detecting means. The selected tone production channel corresponds to the key group which the depressed keys belong to.
Abstract:
An X-ray image diagnosis apparatus includes: an imaging unit supporting an X-ray generation unit and an X-ray detection unit to face each other to take an image of a subject placed on a bed top panel; a control unit to execute a step movement process of at least one of the imaging unit and top panel and take images of the subject at plural stages; and an image processing unit that processes image data taken at the plural stages. The control unit sets plural regions of interest (ROI) in an imaging area of the subject when an image is taken after a contrast medium is injected into the subject, measures a change of an image level in the ROI to detect a flow of the contrast medium, and makes at least one of the imaging unit and top panel move to the next imaging stage based on the detection result.

In accordance with an embodiment, a pattern inspection method includes: applying a light generated from a light source to the same region of a substrate in which an inspection target pattern is formed; guiding, imaging and then detecting a reflected light from the substrate, and acquiring a detection signal for each of a plurality of different wavelengths; and adding the detection signals of the different wavelengths in association with an incident position of an imaging surface to generate added image data including information on a wavelength and signal intensity, judging, by the added image data, whether the inspection target pattern has any defect, and when judging that the inspection target pattern has a defect, detecting the position of the defect in a direction perpendicular to the substrate.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a pattern measuring method includes: irradiating, from a plurality of different incident directions, electromagnetic waves on a periodical structure pattern in which a plurality of patterns are periodically arrayed and partially overlap one another; detecting the electromagnetic waves scattered by the periodical structure pattern and detecting scattering profiles of the electromagnetic waves; and measuring, based on the detected scattering profiles, a pattern shape of the periodical structure pattern. Each of the different incident directions is an incident direction in which the patterns included in the periodical structure pattern do not partially overlap each other.
Abstract:
A magnetic sensor comprises a thin-film-like magnetic tunnel effect element (magnetoresistive effect element) 11. A coil 21 is disposed in a plane under the magnetic tunnel effect element 11 and parallel to a thin-planar film surface of the element. The coil 21 is a double spiral type coil which includes a first spiral conductor portion 21-1 and a second spiral conductor portion 21-2. The magnetic tunnel effect element 11 is disposed between a spiral center P1 of the first conductor portion 21-1 and a spiral center P2 of the second conductor portion 21-2 in a plan view. The first and second conductor portions 21-1 and 21-2 are connected such that electric currents in the same direction pass through a part of the first conductor portion 21-1 that overlaps the magnetic tunnel effect element 11 in a plan view and through a part of the second conductor portion 21-2 that overlaps the magnetic tunnel effect element 11 in a plan view.
