摘要: A system for performing a minimally invasive percutaneous procedure comprises a medical device comprising a hydrogel delivery needle (4) with a tip and a hydrogel outlet (6), an injectable, shear-thinning, self-healing viscoelastic hydrogel that exhibits a storage modulus (G) of at least 600 Pa, and a tan δ (G″/G) from 0.1 to 0.6 in dynamic viscoelasticity measured by a rheometer at 1 Hz and 1% strain rate at 25° C. The system may also comprise a coaxial cannula (2) having a lumen configured for receipt of the hydrogel delivery needle (4), wherein the hydrogel delivery needle comprises an adjustable positioning mechanism (8) configured to limit the advancement depth of the hydrogel delivery needle through the coaxial cannula to a predetermined depth distal to a distal-most end of the coaxial cannula.

摘要: A poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) membrane having a highly porous, reticulated, 3-D structure suitable for lateral flow diagnostic applications is described. Also described is a method for producing a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) membrane that comprises the steps of mixing a suitable amount of PMMA, a solvent and a optionally one of either a co-solvent or a non-solvent to produce a solution, casting a thin film of the solution onto a support, and removal of the solvent from the solution to produce the PMMA membrane. A lateral flow diagnostic device comprising a highly porous PMMA membrane as a reaction membrane is also described.

摘要: A method for making a porous devitalised scaffold suitable for use in repair of osseous, chondral, or osteochondral defects in a mammal comprises the steps of providing micronized extracellular matrix (ECM) tissue, mixing the micronized extracellular matrix with a liquid to provide a slurry, and freeze-drying the slurry to provide the porous scaffold. A porous scaffold suitable for use in repair of osseous, chondral, or osteochondral defects in a mammal and comprising a porous freeze-dried matrix formed from micronised decellularised extracellular matrix tissue is also described.

摘要: A system and method for vestibular and/or balance rehabilitation by monitoring and measuring head motion data of a user having vestibular impairment. The system as includes a user device, a head tracking device, and a remote server device. The user device receives therapeutical configuration data prescribed by a therapist using the remote server device. A visual and auditory and/or haptic stimuli is generated in the user interface according to the received therapeutic configuration data during a training session or initial assessment session. Head motion data from the head tracking device during the training session is received along with user inputted data pertaining to symptoms of the user. The remote server device receives and processes the head motion and positional data, the user inputted symptoms data and communicates a set of updated therapeutic configuration data to the user device based on the processed data for use in a next training session.

摘要: The invention provides a system and method of identifying when a message is received at a control station from at least one device in a network having a plurality of devices, said method comprising the steps of receiving at the control station a low bandwidth signal from at least one device; obtaining a coarse timestamp estimate of when said low bandwidth signal is received by correlating with a pre-programmed signal template; generating a higher resolution correlation estimate by phase shifting the pre-programmed signal template and repeating the correlation; and detecting where the correlation is above a preselected value; and applying a curve fitting function about the higher resolution correlation estimate to obtain an accurate timestamp when the message was received.
