    摘要: An anilide compound represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, which may be the same or different, each represent an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; n represents 0, 1 or 2; A represents an alkylene group having 1 to 14 carbon atoms or a group represented by --CH.sub.2 CO--; and Ar represents a phenyl group, a phenyl group substituted with a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkanoyl group having 2 to 5 carbon atoms or a trifluoromethyl group, a benzyl group, a pyridyl group, a pyridyl group substituted with a halogen atom or a trifluoromethyl group, or a pyrimidyl group, or a salt thereof. The disclosed anilide compounds have potent ACAT inhibitory activity.

    摘要: In a fuel supply device for vehicles, a sub-tank is arranged within a fuel tank. At least one intake port is provided in a bottom wall of the sub-tank. A check valve is arranged at the intake port. A fuel pump is arranged within the sub-tank to supply fuel from the sub-tank to an engine. A fuel return pipe is provided through which a part of the fuel supplied through the fuel supply pipe is returned into the sub-tank. A jet pump is connected to the fuel return pipe so as to deliver the fuel within the fuel tank into the sub-tank through at least one suction port of the jet pump by using fluid energy of the fuel returned into the sub-tank. A pipe is connected to a fuel discharge port of the jet pump, and extends to an upper location within the sub-tank. The jet pump is constituted by a groove forming a flat fluid control device arranged between the fuel pump and the bottom wall of the sub-tank. The groove is formed therein with the fuel suction port and the fuel discharge port of the jet pump.

    摘要: A gas flow measuring apparatus is provided with an air flow sensor mounted in a suction duct upstream from a throttle valve and exposed to the air flow through the suction duct. The air flow sensor includes a ceramic flat plate mounted in the suction duct so that the main surfaces of the ceramic flat plate are parallel with the air flow. First and second temperature-dependent resistor coatings are formed on the main surfaces of the ceramic flat plate so that the first resistor coating and the second resistor coating are respectively formed on the downstream and upstream end portions of the ceramic flat plate by printing or evaporating a platinum. An electric heater coating is formed between the first and second resistor coatings but spaced therefrom to affect only the first resistor coating, and the heater coating is also formed by printing or evaporating a platinum. The first and second resistor coatings and the electric heater are connected to a measuring circuit to determine the amount of air flow depending on a difference between output signals of the first and second resistor coatings.

    摘要: A system for controlling the air-fuel ratio in which the amount of fuel injected into the engine is controlled in accordance with the flow rate of air passing through an air intake pipe including a throttle valve for introducing the air into the engine and the engine operating conditions. A bypass of the air intake pipe is opened or closed to change the air-fuel ratio of the mixture to slightly richer and leaner sides of a basic air-fuel ratio, and the change of the engine output conditions based on the change of the air-fuel ratio is used to correct the air-fuel ratio in an optimum direction. On the basis of a parameter indicating the engine operating conditions such as the detection value of the intake pipe pressure, a control is made to introduce the air which passed through the bypass to one of the upstream or downstream portion of the throttle valve.

    摘要: A method of controlling the timing of spark ignition for an internal combustion engine by monitoring the magnitude of vibration of the engine caused when the engine is knocking. A vibration sensor is mounted on the engine to detect the magnitude of the engine vibration, and the average value of the magnitude of vibration of the engine prior to the engine piston arriving at the top dead center position is compared with the instantaneous value of the magnitude of vibration of the engine caused after the arrival of the piston at the top dead center position. Consequently, when the instantaneous value of the vibration is greater than the average value of the vibration, the spark timing is retarded to prevent the occurrence of knocking in the engine. To accurately detect knocking in the engine, the average value of the vibration is obtained by dividing the integrated value of the monitored vibration by the monitoring time.
