Abstract: A system including a polymeric sheet. The polymeric sheet comprises a base sheet having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface and a multiplicity of spaced rails projecting from the first surface of the base sheet. The rails comprise a stem portion attached to and substantially upright from the first surface of the base sheet and a top portion on the distal end of the stem opposite the base sheet. The top portion comprises a first surface opposite the base sheet and a second surface facing the first surface of the base sheet. Additionally, the rails have a length greater than the width of the stems. The first surface of the base sheet, the second surface of the top portion and the surface of the stem defines a cavity with walls, and an adhesive coated on at least a portion of the cavity wall.

Abstract: A crosslinkable composition comprises components: (a) at least one polymer comprising isobutylene monomer units: and (b) at least one star polymer represented by the formula SiRn(OSi(R)2-PIB-T)4-n. Each R independently represents a hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms. Each PIB independently represents a divalent polymeric segment comprising isobutylene monomer units. Each T independently represents a monovalent terminal group, and n is 0 or 1. An adhesive comprising a crosslinked reaction product of the crosslinkable composition and a method of making the adhesive are also disclosed.

Abstract: Coextruded polymeric article comprising first segments each having first and second opposed major surfaces and a thickness, the first segments comprising first material; second segments comprising second material, wherein adjacent first segments are joined together via a second segment, wherein the second segments extend from the second major surface past the first major surface of each first adjacent segment and has a distal end, the second segments having first and second oppose sides; first protrusions each extending from the first side of a second segment and extending no more than to the first major surface of the respective first segment adjacent to the second segment, the first protrusions comprising third material; and second protrusions each extending from the first side of a second segment, contacting the first protrusion extending from the second segment and extending not more than to the distal end of the second segment, the second protrusions comprising fourth material, wherein at least one of the second and third or second and fourth materials are different, and wherein the first segments, second segments, first protrusions, and second protrusions each extend continuously for at least 5 mm. Abstract: Provided are amorphous polyolefin compositions that can be dispensed digitally as the core in a core-sheath construction. These formulations provide dependable adhesion to both polar and non-polar surface in addition to providing a high barrier to air and moisture which is beneficial in many applications. These formulations and the method of processing these formulations provide many benefits, including low VOCs, avoiding die cutting, design flexibility, achieving intricate nonplanar bonding patterns, printing on thin and/or delicate substrates, and printing on an irregular and/or complex topography, no need for release liners or low-adhesion backsize, and no need for a post-processing step.

Abstract: Article comprising first and second coextruded polymeric nettings, the first and second coextruded polymeric nettings each having a machine direction comprising: a plurality of pairs of: first segments each having first and second opposed major surfaces and a thickness, the first segments comprising first material; second segments comprising second material, wherein adjacent first segments are joined together via a second segment, wherein the second segments extend from the second major surface past the first major surface of each first adjacent segment and has a distal end, the second segments having first and second opposed major surfaces, wherein there is a gap between adjacent second segments; and a third material comprising adhesive, different from the first and second materials on at least one the first or second major surfaces first segment, wherein the first segments, second segments, and third material each extend continuously for at least 5 mm in the machine direction, and wherein first and second materials of adjacent pairs are periodically bonded together in the machine direction, wherein a portion of some of the first segments of the first coextruded polymeric netting are engaged between some of the adjacent first segments of the second coextruded polymeric netting. Netting described herein are useful, for example, for tape landing zones, bundling applications where it is desired to maintain breathability without an air tight barrier, and bundling applications where it is desired to have compression wrap without adhesion to the wrapped substrate.

Abstract: An adhesive composition are articles are described. The adhesive composition comprises a polyisobutylene polymer component; up to 20 wt.-% of a polyolefin copolymer comprising polymerized units of an acidic monomer; and optionally, at least one tackifier. The polyolefin copolymer typically comprises C2-C4 alkylene units. The polyolefin copolymer comprises polymerized units of a carboxylic acid, or unsaturated derivative thereof. In some embodiments, the polyolefin copolymer has a melting temperature ranging from 50 to 150° C. In some embodiments, the polyolefin copolymer has an acid number of less than 40, 35, 30, or 25 mgKOH/g.
