Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid (meth)acrylic syrup for impregnating a fibrous substrate. The invention especially relates to a viscous liquid syrup mainly containing methacrylic or acrylic components. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a syrup. The invention relates further to a process for impregnating a fibrous substrate or long fibers with said viscous liquid syrup. The invention also relates to a fibrous substrate preimpregnated with said syrup, which is useful for the production of mechanical or structured parts or products. The invention also relates to a production method for producing mechanical or structured parts or items and to three-dimensional mechanical or structured parts produced by said method. The invention applies to the production of mechanical parts or structural elements made of impact-resistant thermoplastic composite material.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to liquid compositions including a (meth)acrylic polymer, a (meth)acrylic monomer, and a maturation agent selected from a metal oxide or a metal hydroxide. The (meth)acrylic polymer can contain a monomer carrying a carboxylic acid function and/or the (meth)acrylic monomer can carrying a carboxylic acid function. The liquid compositions can also contain a dynamic viscosity between 10 mPa·s and 10 000 mPa·s at 25° C.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid composition comprising a monomer, a (meth)acrylic polymer and at least one flame-retardant substance (FD1) chosen from a phosphorus-based additive. In particular the present invention it relates to a liquid composition comprising a monomer, a (meth)acrylic polymer and at least one flame-retardant substance (FD1) chosen from a phosphorus-based additive that can be used as a syrup and especially as a syrup for impregnation and for the preparation for improving the fire resistance of a thermoplastic polymer or matrix obtained after polymerization of the syrup. Also concerned is a thermoplastic material obtained after polymerization of the liquid composition or syrup. The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing such a liquid composition or syrup. The invention also relates to a process for impregnating a fibrous substrate of long fibers with said liquid composition or syrup. The invention also relates to a fibrous substrate preimpregnated with said liquid composition or syrup which is useful for manufacturing composite parts. The present invention also relates to a process for manufacturing mechanical parts or structural elements made of composite material and to mechanical parts or structural elements made of composite material obtained via a process using such a liquid composition.

The present invention concerns a method for producing a multilayer composite material, according to which said multilayer composite material comprises one or a plurality of thermoplastic polymer layers, one of which is a surface layer (1) comprising a thermoplastic polymer A, and comprises a substrate layer (2) comprising a thermoplastic (meth)acrylic polymer matrix and a fibrous reinforcing material, said method involving cutting at least one window in the thermoplastic polymer layer or layers and at least one window in the fibrous material, said windows being intended to coincide; impregnating the fibrous material with a liquid (meth)acrylic syrup such that it fills said windows, or inserting a transparent thermoplastic plate into said window; polymerizing the liquid (meth)acrylic syrup impregnating the fibrous material and present in the absence of a thermoplastic plate in the window or windows. The invention is applicable applies to the production of mechanical parts of structured elements or decorative items made from multilayer composite material and requiring transparent windows.
