The present invention relates to a process comprising the steps of a) contacting an aqueous dispersion of a TiO2 slurry containing adsorbing dispersant with an adsorbing latex to form a mixture, wherein the pH of the mixture of the TiO2 slurry and adsorbing latex are sufficiently high to inhibit interaction between the TiO2 and the adsorbing latex; then b) lowering the pH of the mixture of step a) sufficiently to promote interaction between the TiO2 and the adsorbing latex, thereby forming a composite. The process of the present invention provides for improved hiding and reduced grit for coatings compositions.
Abstract:
A novel SH-SAW biosensor capable of non-invasive and touch-free detection of cancer cell viability and growth or proliferation in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures as well as stem cell regeneration as it pertains to cancer cell biology and anti-cancer drug development is presented. The biosensor includes two pairs of resonators including interdigital transducers reflecting fingers to quantify mass loading by the cells in suspension as well as within a tumoroid culture platform. The biosensor can be part of a perfused 3PNS-tumoroid system that is amenable to real-time non-invasive monitoring of the cell proliferation, viability, and multiplexed detection of key physiologic and clinical biomarkers.

Event audio data that is based on verbal utterances associated with a pharmaceutical event associated with a patient may be received. Medical history information associated with the patient may be obtained, based on information included in a medical history repository. At least one text string that matches at least one interpretation of the event audio data may be obtained, based on information included in a pharmaceutical speech repository, information included in a speech accent repository, and a drug matching function, the at least one text string being associated with a pharmaceutical drug. One or more adverse drug event (ADE) alerts may be determined based on matching the at least one text string and medical history attributes associated with the at least one patient with ADE attributes obtained from an ADE repository. An ADE alert report may be generated, based on the determined one or more ADE alerts.

An apparatus, a method and a system are provided, wherein the system includes an encoding engine to encode and/or compress one or more objects of interest within individual image frames with higher bit densities than the bit density employed to encode and/or compress their background. The system may further include a context engine to identify a region of interest including at least a part of the one or more objects of interest, and scale the region of interest within individual image frames to emphasize the objects of interest.

A micro inertial measurement system includes a housing, a sensing module, and a damper. The sensing module includes a rigid sensing support, a measuring and controlling circuit board mounted on the rigid sensing support and an inertial sensor set on the measuring and controlling circuit board. The inertial sensor includes a gyroscope and an accelerometer. The sensing module is mounted in the housing. The damper is mounted in the housing and set in the gap between the sensing module and the inside wall of the housing. By use of the above-mentioned structure, the noise immunity of the inertial measuring system can be greatly improved, and the volume and weight of the inertial measuring system can be greatly reduced.

The disclosure provides an electronic device with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface and a method for starting USB communication for a USB interface, so as to solve the problem that a mobile phone terminal device can be damaged easily when a charger shares one interface with USB communication in the conventional art. A control pin of the control circuit of the device is connected with a VCHG pin of a power management chip; an output pin of the control circuit is connected with a USB_VBUS pin of a USB interface chip; a power pin of the control circuit is connected with a fixed voltage input end which inputs a high level; and the control circuit is configured to output a fixed voltage from the output pin of the control circuit when detecting that the voltage of the control pin is more than a set threshold and output a low level from the output pin of the control circuit when detecting that the voltage of the control pin is less than the set threshold. The charging voltage (VCHG) of the handheld terminal product is only used as the control signal which is isolated from the voltage output to the USB_VBUS pin, so that the damage to the device is avoided.
