    摘要: Methods and structures for processing JDF elements for a printing system by translating JDF elements into corresponding command language strings for output to a printer. The command language strings are associated with a priority value. The generated command language strings are output in an order based on the associated priority values so that the intended semantic and scope of the JDF elements may be maintained in the generated command language strings. The translation may use one or more translation tables to match a JDF element path name for a received JDF element with one or more entries in one or more translation tables. The matching table entries may specify a corresponding command language string and a priority value to be output to a printer. The generated command language strings and associated priority values may be stored in a memory structure to permit output in the desired order.

    摘要: A novel CCP scheme is disclosed for a CPP-GMR sensor in which an amorphous metal/alloy layer such as Hf is inserted between a lower Cu spacer and an oxidizable layer such as Al, Mg, or AlCu prior to performing a pre-ion treatment (PIT) and ion assisted oxidation (IAO) to transform the amorphous layer into a first metal oxide template and the oxidizable layer into a second metal oxide template both having Cu metal paths therein. The amorphous layer promotes smoothness and smaller grain size in the oxidizable layer to minimize variations in the metal paths and thereby improves dR/R, R, and dR uniformity by 50% or more. An amorphous Hf layer may be used without an oxidizable layer, or a thin Cu layer may be inserted in the CCP scheme to form a Hf/PIT/IAO or Hf/Cu/Al/PIT/IAO configuration. A double PIT/IAO process may be used as in Hf/PIT/IAO/Al/PIT/IAO or Hf/PIT/IAO/Hf/PIT/IAO schemes.

According to one embodiment of the invention, a job setting manager process executing on a printing device is configured to examine and store print job attributes as detected by print interpreter modules. According to an embodiment of the invention, the job setting manager maintains a data structure comprising print job attributes, their values, and other information. As each interpreter module detects a job setting in the print data, the job setting manager receives this setting and its value and checks the data structure to identify conflicts between previously-set job attributes and whether the requested job attribute is supported by the destination printing device. According to an embodiment of the invention, if a conflict is identified, a notification is produced.

    摘要: A method for automatically generating a custom printer description file is disclosed. The custom printer description file enables a computer's printing system to insert, into a print data stream, commands (e.g., PCL, PJL, JCL, JDF, or PJTF commands) that cause a non-Postscript-enabled printing device (e.g., a non-Postscript printer) to perform operations in accordance with a user's specified desires. The custom printer description file is automatically generated based on an existing PPD file, which already indicates the features that the user's printing device supports. According to one aspect, an automated tool reads both an existing PPD file and translation data. Using the translation data, the automated tool generates a custom printer description file that contains appropriate non-Postscript commands for each feature/option combination that the printing device supports.

A sensor is mounted in a sensor body for detecting the presence of at least one specific component and providing a representative signal that is transmitted to a remote receiver for processing. A power source such as a thermopile provides power for the sensor and the transmitter. Preferred are sensors that detect a plurality of different components in the gas and provide a distinct signal for each component. A preferred transmitter is designed to transmit at a low duty cycle so as to conserve power. A preferred sensor is electronic, has the capability for self-diagnostics and self-calibration, and causes a change in current when exposed to the component, such as a functionalized field effect transistor.

    摘要: A current-perpendicular-to-plane (CPP) giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor of the synthetic spin valve type and its method of formation are disclosed, the sensor including a novel laminated free layer having ultra-thin (less than 3 angstroms thickness) laminas of Fe50 Co50 (or any iron rich alloy of the form CoxFe1-x with x between 0.25 and 0.75) interspersed with thicker layers of Co90Fe10 and Cu spacer layers to produce a free layer with good coercivity, a coefficient of magnetostriction that can be varied between positive and negative values and a high GMR ratio, due to enhancement of the bulk scattering coefficient by the laminas. The configuration of the lamina and layers in periodic groupings allow the coefficient of magnetostriction to be finely adjusted and the coercivity and GMR ratio to be optimized. The sensor performance can be further improved by including layers of Cu and Fe50Co50 in the synthetic antiferromagnetic pinned layer.
