    摘要: A pneumatic tire includes a carcass structure, tread band, belt structure, and sidewalls. The carcass structure includes at least one carcass ply and at least one annular reinforcing structure associated with the at least one carcass ply. The tread band includes first and second sectors. The first sectors are axially spaced apart from each other and tapered along a radially inner direction. The second sectors are axially spaced apart from each other and tapered along a radially outer direction. The first and second sectors are disposed axially side-by-side, one after the other, along a transverse development of the tread band. A ratio of Shore A hardness at 23° C. of the elastomeric material of the first sectors to Shore A hardness at 23° C. of the elastomeric material of the second sectors is greater than 1.10:1. A process for manufacturing the tire is also disclosed.

    摘要: A pneumatic tire has a carcass structure having at least one carcass ply and at least one annual reinforcing structure associated with the carcass ply, a tread band made of an elastomeric material at a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure, a belt structure interposed between the carcass structure and the tread band and a pair of axially opposite side walls on the carcass structure, wherein the tread band has i) at least one first sector, radially extending, substantially of a first elastomeric material; ii) a plurality of second sectors radially extending, positioned at axially opposite sides of the at least one first sector and substantially of a second elastomeric material; iii) at least one longitudinal groove formed in the at least one first sector and extending substantially for the entire circumferential development of the tread band, wherein the first elastomeric material has a modulus of elasticity under compression at 23° C. greater than the modulus of elasticity under compression at 23° C. of the second elastomeric material, and wherein the modulus of elasticity under compression at 23° C. of the first elastomeric material is about 20 to about 80 MPa.

    摘要: A process for manufacturing tyres for vehicle wheels includes building on a forming support a carcass structure including at least one carcass ply, and, at at least one end edge of the carcass ply, at least one annular anchoring structure including at least one substantially circumferential annular insert and at least one filling insert associated with the at least one substantially circumferential annular insert. Building the carcass structure includes positioning the annular anchoring structure on the carcass ply by moving the substantially circumferential annular insert into contact with an end edge of the carcass ply by means of a special positioning member, pulling down the filling insert on the end edge of the carcass ply and turning up a free end portion of the end edge of the carcass ply so as to form a turned up end portion of the carcass ply including the annular anchoring structure. The pulling down of the filling insert on the end edge of the carcass ply is carried out by a special pulling down member while the substantially circumferential annular insert is retained in a contact position with the end edge of the carcass ply by the positioning member.

    摘要: A tire for motor vehicles includes a belt structure (3) which has consecutively overlapped first and second belt strips (5, 6) and a pair of side straps (7) overlying the second belt strip (6) adjacent to the side edges (6a) of the second belt strip. Each side strip (7) is made up of at least one cord circumferentially wound in a plurality of coils to form two radially superposed layers of coils disposed in axial side by side relation. The first belt strip (5), located adjacent to the carcass structure (2), substantially has the same width as the tread band (4), and laterally projects from the second belt strip (6) radially overlapped therewith. The second belt strip (6) has side flaps (6b) projecting from the side straps (7) and spaced apart from the first belt strip (5) by a spacing which progressively grows with distance away from the outer edges (7a) of the side straps themselves. These side straps axially project inwardly with respect to the position corresponding to the groove bottom of the axially outermost circumferential groove.
