摘要: Electrochromic device control systems and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a window system includes a plurality of transparent windows, a plurality of electrochromic devices, a plurality of control modules, and a main controller. Each transparent window has an electrochromic device operatively associated therewith. A control module is operatively coupled to each electrochromic device and is adapted to controllably adjust an electric field to activate and de-activate the electrochromic device. Finally, the main controller is operatively coupled to the plurality of control modules and adapted to simultaneously adjust the electric fields of the plurality of electrochromic devices to activate and de-activate the plurality of electrochromic devices in unison. In one particular embodiment, a window dimming control system in accordance with the present invention may advantageously be incorporated into an existing cabin services system of a passenger aircraft.

摘要: A system for scheduling an in-home appliance repair service is disclosed. The system receives inputs from a user via a client device. The inputs are used to identify one or more home appliances in need of repair. For example, the user may have a clogged dishwasher. Data identifying the appliance is then transmitted to a repair scheduling server. The repair scheduling server executes a program which determines a plurality of available repair time slots and transmits a list of choices to the client device for display. The available repair time slots may depend on the type of appliance, the brand of the appliance, the particular model, the user's identify, and/or the geographical location of the appliance. Preferably, time slots are dynamically determined in cooperation with a plurality of service providers. Once the user selects a timeslot, the service is confirmed and scheduled.

摘要: Control panel architectures, and, specifically, architectures having bulb assemblies as features, particular those in control panels used in motor vehicle applications, are disclosed. By providing restricting means such as for leg features as part of the control panel assay, bulb assemblies are more resistant to damage to the bulb globe or filaments, or other elements, due to the effect of undesired movement or vibration that occurs in motorized vehicles.

摘要: This invention relates to a light guide (1) for a control knob, particularly an instrument panel of a vehicle. The knob is fitted with an index (3) free to move in rotation about an axis (A). The light guide (1) will be inserted between a light source (2) and the index (3) and comprises at least one entry surface (4) for light rays emitted by the light source (2), a first exit surface (6) of light rays towards the index (3) and side faces (5) inserted between the entry surface (4) and the first exit surface (6). The light guide comprises first optical means (4, 8, 15, 16) to orient received light rays approximately parallel to the rotation axis (A) of the index (3), and second optical means (5, 22, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20) to focus the previously reoriented light rays towards at least the first exit surface (6).

摘要: A personal communications system permits a wireless handset to access either a cellular mobile telephone system (CMTS) or a private wireless telephone system (WTS) which shares the CMTS frequency band by utilizing those CMTS channels which are idle in the area serviced by the WTS. The wireless handset automatically selects between the WTS and CMTS operating modes by maintaining a list of previously accessed WTS control channels and periodically scanning that list for a WTS available at the location of the handset. If a WTS control channel is not found in that list, then the handset periodically scans all possible WTS control channels for the purpose of registering on an available WTS. If no WTS is found, then the handset switches to CMTS mode. The scanning methodology permits the wireless handset to rapidly lock on to an available WTS which will provide service to the handset, so as to reduce the possibility of the wireless handset missing incoming paging signals.
