    摘要: A cross polarization compensation system, in which an input elliptically polarized wave is converted, by a first rotatable differential phase shifter having a phase shift of 90.degree. or less than 90.degree., into an elliptically polarized wave defined by.vertline..alpha..vertline.=.vertline.cot.sup.-1 .gamma..vertline.(where .alpha. is the tilt angle of an ellipse indicative of the elliptically polarized wave relative to a predetermined reference direction and .gamma. is the axial ratio for the ellipse), and then the phase delay or advance plane of a second rotatable differential phase shifter having a phase shift of the ellipse indicative of 90.degree. is disposed in alignment with the major axis of the converted elliptically polarized wave, thereby to obtain a linearly polarized wave having electric fields components of a desired direction.

    摘要: An electronic fuel injector capable of supplying fuel in a stable manner is provided by employing a swirler, which is manufactured at a lower cost and has durability, and by ensuring superior wear resistance of the swirler and a valve member provided on a movable part, which is put into frictional contact with the swirler. The electronic fuel injector comprises a movable part, a valve member, a valve seat, a swirler, a stopper, a stator core, a casing, a spring, and an electromagnetic coil. A valve member is provided at a fore end of the movable part. The swirler serves not only to swirl fuel, but also to guide movement of the valve member provided at the fore end of the movable part. The swirler is formed of a powder sintered compact of martensitic stainless steel having corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

    摘要: An X-ray tube which is high in brightness and high in resolution, and can withstand continuous long-time use, that is, it can withstand a high heat load. An X-ray target and an X-ray tube having the X-ray target include an X-ray generating metal layer having an average crystal grain diameter not larger than 30 &mgr;m on the surface of a base plate in the X-ray irradiated side. The X-ray tube has a small focus point and can withstand a high input load. A CT apparatus using the X-ray tube can provide a high resolution and a high definition image.

The invention resides in a vacuum circuit-breaker, a vacuum valve and electrodes for the vacuum valve, which are characterized in that fixed and movable electrodes each comprise arc electrodes, whose entire surfaces, mutually facing each other, are made of an alloy containing a refractory metal and a highly conductive metal, and electrode rods of a highly conductive metal supporting the respective arc electrodes, and that each arc electrode and the mating electrode rod are integrally formed by means of solid-phase diffusion bonding.
