Abstract:
A port/spike assembly including an enteral spike having a diameter substantially less than the diameter of a standard parenteral spike. The assembly also includes a port having a tube with an outer wall which defines a generally cylindrical elongated bore. A frangible membrane is disposed inside the elongated bore, and divides the bore into upper and lower bore sections. A selector ring is provided in the upper bore section for permitting insertion of the reduced diameter enteral spike and for preventing the insertion of a standard parenteral spike through the membrane. The assembly prevents inadvertent insertion of a parenteral spike into an enteral feeding system.
Abstract:
A device to locate internal faults in a high-voltage capacitor battery that has a plurality of symmetrically parallel and series-coupled capacitor banks arranged in parallel branches coupled by shunt branches. The phase angles of the shunt currents flowing in the shunt branches relative to the total current flowing in the parallel branches are determined. A fault is located in one of the capacitor banks based upon these determined phase angles.
Abstract:
A monitoring system for detecting earth contact of at least one phase of a polyphase network. Each of the phases in the network is connected by a capacitive-inductive filter to a neutral node which is connected to earth. In one embodiment of the invention, the current flowing from the neutral node to earth is detected by an induction current transformer which provides a signal responsive to said earth current. The output signal of the induction current transformer is conducted through at least one low pass filter for suppressing harmonics, and rectified to produce a direct current voltage signal, the amplitude of which is proportional to the amplitude of the fundamental frequency component of said signal. A fault indicating signal is produced when the direct voltage signal exceeds a predetermined value.
Abstract:
A multi-stage turbocharger arrangement (TLA), having a high-pressure stage, the high-pressure turbine of which has an associated first bypass valve; and having a low-pressure stage which is arranged downstream as viewed in the flow direction of the exhaust gases and which has a low-pressure turbine and a second bypass valve, wherein at least one of the bypass valves is arranged in an associated, cooled housing module.
Abstract:
A hydraulic oscillating motor which has at least two working chambers which are coupled via pressure lines to a device for pressure compensation. A first working chamber is connected to a first pressure line and a second working chamber is connected to a second pressure line. The motor further has a device for pressure compensation with a first compensating cylinder and a second compensating cylinder. Each of the compensating cylinders has in each case one compensating volume and in each case one elastic force store for delimiting the respective compensating volume. The compensating volume of the first compensating cylinder is connected to the first pressure line, and the compensating volume of the second compensating cylinder is connected to the second pressure line.
Abstract:
A sectional sportboard including a first and second separate sections having opposing mating surfaces transverse to a longitudinal axis of the sectional sportboard. The first section and the second section each having at least two hollow receptacles, the hollow receptacles in each section having an opening forming a continuous circumference aperture in the mating surface, and corresponding receptacles axially aligned and located parallel to the longitudinal axis, one or more pairs of first through holes extending at an angle from a first section outer surface to a position on the first section mating surface, and one or more pairs of first blind holes located in the second section mating surface at a position and an angle axially corresponding to the one or more pairs of first through holes, each of the through holes and blind holes having an aperture with a continuous circumference in the respective mating surface.
Abstract:
A coating based on diamond-like is formed from a plurality of films of diamond-like carbon formed alternatingly over one another and in this respect a film in which no portion or only a much lower portion of doped fluorine is contained. A film in which fluorine or at least fluorine with a higher portion than the film arranged thereunder or thereabove are formed alternatingly over one another. The coating could be manufactured by using a target of pure carbon. Films are deposited on a surface of a substrate by means of a PVD process, with the portion of fluorine contained in doped form. Films are formed alternately being varied by varying a supplied volume flow of a fluorine/carbon compound or sulfur/fluorine compound as a precursor.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a wobble pump base module and a wobble pump system. The invention-based wobble pump base module (40) comprises a wobble pump drive system (43), a wobble device (41), a receptacle (42) for a pump module (1) and a pretensioning device (56), wherein the pretensioning device (56) flexibly pretensions the pump module (1) housed in the receptacle (42) against the wobble device (41).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a shell catalyst containing ruthenium as an active metal, alone or together with at least one other metal of the auxiliary group IB, VIIB or VIII of the periodical system of the elements (CAS version), and applied to a carrier containing silicon dioxide as a carrier material. The invention also relates to a method for producing said shell catalyst, and to a method for hydrogenating an organic compound containing hydrogenable groups, preferably for hydrogenating a carbocyclic aromatic group to form the corresponding carbocyclic aliphatic groups or for hydrogenating aldehydes to form the corresponding alcohols, using the inventive shell catalyst. The invention further relates to the use of the inventive shell catalyst for hydrogenating an organic compound containing hydrogenable groups, preferably for hydrogenating a carbocyclic aromatic group to form the corresponding carbocyclic aliphatic groups or for hydrogenating aldehydes to form the corresponding alcohols.
Abstract:
A convertible stadium includes a playing field, a seating area, a stationary roof structure and a large, heavy roof panel mounted for movement with respect to the stationary roof structure, A plurality of cable drums are mounted for movement together with the roof panel. Each cable drum has at least one cable wound thereabout. The cable is secured to the stationary roof structure and is payable from the respective cable drum. The system is designed so as to minimize movement between the cable and the roof panel, so there will be no possibility of frictional engagement therebetween.
