摘要： An optoelectronic device, such as a solar cell, light-emitting device, or photodetector, comprises a substrate, a number of fibers supported by the substrate so that an end of each fiber is in electrical communication with the substrate surface; an optional first layer, covering the substrate, though which the fibers protrude, and a second layer overlaid on at least part of the first layer and exposed fiber surfaces. The second layer may be electrically conducting, and electrically isolated from the substrate surface by the first layer. The second layer can be in electrical communication with each fiber, and an electrically conducting path can exists between the second layer and the substrate surface through each fiber. The substrate, in whole or in part (such as the substrate surface) can be electrically conducting. The electrically conducting path may comprises a semiconductor p-n junction, so that the optoelectronic device emits light, provides a photovoltaic potential, and/or is sensitive to light, for example acting as a photoresistor, photodetector, and the like.

摘要： Devices and methods are employed to convert an open, U-shaped flex-type window spacer to provide a surface for mounting an interior blind or other hardware. Such existing spacers have a generally U-shaped cross section and a groove with a width facing into a sealed cavity between panes of glass and opposing parallel lips on either side of the groove. The preferred embodiments include an elongate panel having an inner surface, an outer surface, and a width greater than the width of the groove, and barbs extending from the inner surface and configured to be retained by the lips so as to hold the panel in position with the outer surface facing into the sealed cavity. According to a basic configuration, the outer surface of the panel is generally flat, though the panel has an L-shaped cross section or may provide a clip to hold a blind control mechanism in position.

摘要： The invention provides fragments of GAD.sub.65 that are specifically reactive with at least one class of GAD.sub.65 autoantibody. Most fragments are substantially free of N-terminal amino acids that would otherwise limit solubility. Different fragment contain epitopes for different classes of GAD.sub.65 autoantibodies. The fragments are used in methods of diagnosing and treating insulin dependent diabetes mellitus and stiff man syndrome.

The device incorporates a bow spring which cooperates with the lancet structure within the housing, and a trigger which extends laterally through and into the housing. The bow spring is resistive to movement, and therefore maintains the puncturing tip in a retracted position within the housing. Lateral movement of the trigger into the housing, such as through a pivoting trigger operation, biases the bow spring against this resistive to deflect the bow spring and extend the puncturing tip through the forward end of the housing to achieve a puncturing position.

摘要： An electrical connector for an electrical connection is disclosed, comprising a female receptacle to connect to either a male shorting cap or a male plug. The male plug and female receptacle can be fastened to a standard knockout in a light fixture. The male plug and female receptacle have alignment means such that they can only fit together one way, and once together are positively connected by means of a twist-lock ring. The male plug is connected to the female receptacle by aligning the two fins to the two corresponding grooves, and pushing inward such that the protrusions of the female receptacle pass through the indentations in the ring of the male plug. The twist-lock ring is turned and the nubs on the protrusions engage the notches of the female receptacle, creating a removable twist-lock ring.
